Thanks to emp Thorzain can take 3 - 4 engagements between 33 min and 40 min without mining. He gets about 1½ minute good mining during those minutes and Naniwa is constantly mining from two bases. If anyone has any idea on how Thorzain could win that, please post because I'm clueless :p | ||

In this case Thorzain had a super powerful army( close to 180 supply only in the army) and a lot of ghost/vikink. | ||

I totally understand that and that Thorzain had more army (180 supply where like 20 was scvs when Nani had like 60) but still, eco makes it possible to trade more. There was this fight where Thorzain dropped down to 103 supply and Naniwa stayed at around 160 and then the ghosts started emping and 3 seconds later nani is down on 98 supply. I feel like Naniwa shouldn't even have to trade efficiently in that scenario with 2 mining bases versus 0... | ||

You're right, he shouldn't have to trade cost-efficiently, and for most of the game, he didn't. Naniwa was essentially one fight away from winning the game; beat Thorzains last army, ane he won't be able to replenish it. Also, Thorzain's economy was limited in number of bases, but he had so many orbital commands that he could still have a good economy for much of the game. In the end, when Thorzain was out of mining bases, Naniwa only had to beat his last army and he would have been fine, but he lost the engagement too heavily and was unable to reinforce. Thorzain is different from most Terrans in that he doesn't mind playing late-game vs Protoss. It's what he's good at. His turtly style and his mass ghost and Viking-composition can be tricky to beat, but if you want to see a successful attempt, look at his game vs Hero right after playing Naniwa. The trick is to harass not only the mining bases, but also the production. Naniwa did the first part well, but a warp prism in the main to kill some barracks would have done wonders. | ||

If he is in good shape, I predict that he will do really well, I wouldn't be surprised if he got to the ro8 accidentally said finals instead of ro8 lol... | ||
