I lost a lot of respect for CatZ after he forfeited to let another player advance. That tells me he is no longer competitive and therefore no longer a player. He doesn't have any drive to win tournaments anymore. He's just a manager now. I won't be rooting for CatZ anymore for that reason.

He forfeited to his teammate Root Kane to let him have a chance to play on a bigger stage. He also wanted for his team to have the best chance going forward. It's weird to be an owner and still a player at the same time, but I think he made the right choice in allowing his player go through and get more experience.

For this tournament it was allowed though and approved by a MLG referee. Please watch the interview he did on this topic:

I love catz, but that reasoning for forfeiting is silly. If you believe Kane is better, why are you not confident that he will win? Depriving him of the chance to play you hurts him by directly taking away the opportunity for him to play a better known (if not actually better) player like yourself. Secondly, believe it or not but as a player you still have fans who want to see you do well and show good games. Many people were very excited for your win over dragon and hoped to see more of you.

I hope you think about these things before doing anything similar in the future.

I will check Catz' games in MLG later, but after watching the interview i gotta say i gained a lot of respect for Catz, and i liked him before. I love watching the personal growth that is so apparent. He has become very eloquent and very composed, and is the perfect spokesperson for Root. I am happy to hear that they found some backers and pure managment people, it warms my heart looking at all the sponsors on the jersey.
Right now i am in the process of starting my own business and it gives me hope to see someone like Catz being genuine and honest succeed. I mean that in contrast to someone like Mr. Bitter, who is to me just the opposite archetype and how to handle myself as a businessman, but the much more common.
He always showed intitative and passion but he seems I don't really care for the forfeit issue, he had sound reasoning and to me he says that he stands by his decision, except that he didn't correctly factor in the fickle bitch that is the sc2 community on what is acceptable as proper esports conduct.
Maybe we can see QXC on Root again, that would be awesome!

supporter of CatZ and I saw that he and the rest of ROOT got a house in Antioch, which is where I live! hope to see him around sometime haha.

Has he actually been streaming? I know for some reason the first few videos were removed from his twitch, but I havn't seen him streaming in like 2 weeks, or does he stream at some weird times these days?

He was at Redbull Training Ground last weekend and afaik just returned to the ROOT house yesterday. Main reason for not streaming much the last 2 weeks. He was live last night (for EU), though!

I heard on Meta Catz said he feels like he's playing the best Starcraft of his life right now. I turned on his stream and he wasn't kidding. Way higher APM than usual too.
