He just played very badly.
He proxied a rax which got scouted quickly, so he had to cancel it and start his build way behind. He then flew banshees in turrets and armies without doing ANYTHING.
Second game he sees a starport with techlab seconds before a banshee pops out and doesn't react to it. No turrets, doesn't save scans. (He dropped his mules seconds before the banshee's in his base) The 2 banshees decided everything then and there.
No awareness, slow reaction times. As was said here before, he was sleepwalking.
The games against Eifer and DeMuslim were good though.

As MorroW said international tournaments results are skewed and it's often who is the least jetlagged / stressed out that will end up doing well.
I hope that he got some good sleep for today.

Don't overrate him now, he plays way to greedy and got a bit to much selfconfidence. The games vs demuslim, were way to close, to see him winning vs taeja, and also his second game vs eifer, started out very close, cause of his greedy style (4vs2 bases so early on), if he plays like this he can't beat crank. Hope he just did it, cause these were not such good players and takes it a lot more serious now.

im definitely not convinced of his play at this mlg  vs demuslim both games were really shaky und could have gone either way^^ i hope he slept very well und is gaining some momentum by beating killer,revival and sasquatch so he can beat stephano The biggest challenge is to get past these two zergs. if he will get this far i think he is very confident and well practiced to take down the really big names. i hope we can rely on his insane good tvt recently so he beats the winner of taeja vs alive and face protoss from than. if he makes it into the grand finals everything is possible imo he can beat leenock/violet.

Against Zergs you have to be greedy. Just remember Taejas games at IPL.

DeMuslim isn't some random terran though, He is capable of taking down koreans every now and again, not constantly but still.
Game 1 Demu just out greeded MKP and got a good lead in upgrades, and only reason MKP won that game was that Demu threw his lead away by running into siege tanks, but MKP played really well beside that, and in game 2 he just straight up beat him.

One thing is that since he went through loser bracket and not group play, at least extended series is not in play for him.
