I have no idea why people hate on timing attacks, it's what the entire terran race is pretty much built off in the first place but no one says anything about those players. I've always kind of thought MC plays protoss like a terran would. The entire game, at a high level, is highly based on timings of when you upgrade, take your third, attack, etc. MC generally shows a good understanding of timings even though sometimes he waits too long to take a third (which is much easier to know when you're looking at the game from third person perspective). Sure you can play the turtle protoss style, which he does sometimes, but oftentimes the reason you see an actual protoss macro game is because they have been extremely greedy and don't get punished. Contrary to everyone constantly calling MC greedy because he often goes nexus first, he at least has the sense to not take random thirds which 75% of protoss do just because they're floating 400 minerals due to bad macro and cross their fingers they get away with it. If he does a lot of two base timings it generally seems to either be because he's on a map where it's impossible to take his third, or because he respects his opponent and waits until they take their third, then puts on pressure to deny theirs while taking his own. Sometimes it outright kills his opponent in which case every goes "same old MC, a two base timing, does he ever take a third?" And almost every all-in I've seen MC do was the result of stupid maps or because he was all-inned in the first place. It's a bit frustrating seeing people say that he only two base all-ins because it's a response to what his opponent does. I doubt the amount of random, uncalculated all-ins he does is higher than any other pro. | ||

That's about all I remember, I don't see why MC would go to Canada with his gf. | ||

You're right. Other protosses have to find different ways of playing because they are unable to emulate MC's style which is easier to do but harder to win with because you need very good unit control. | ||
