He would never have been able to move out and securing a third would have been completely impossible. He held off the two base infestor push perfectly and killed a ton of infestors but it still didn't matter because there was no way he was securing a third or putting on pressure without getting into a base race he's destined to lose against muta/ling/infestor. Often when you see a protoss player "play really shitty" it's because protoss mistakes are more glaringly obvious because of the race design. How many times have you seen zerg lose 5 roaches to a bad rally point early game when it changes nothing? Compare that to a protoss losing 3 stalkers for no reason early game. Compare having your army caught out of position as terran to being caught out of position as protoss. How many times have you seen infestors randomly being suicided but when a protoss loses some templar casters act like it's the mistake of the century, etc. Same sort of mistakes, same unfortunate decision making, same misclicks, more punishment. It's not changing until HotS. | ||

+ Show Spoiler + Last game was pretty much the definition of playing protoss. You don't get to make mistakes buddy, one bad blink and you're out. Seems like MC was trying to play really reactionary. He held the infestor/ling push perfectly. Low sentry count seems to be a good idea against this kind of play since you're bound to loose them anyway. If it was a different map, with third easier to secure for protoss he might have won that, but once the mutas poped there was no way he could have build up a good enough composition off of 2base without being completely all in. gg MC, good luck in the future. | ||

I already stopped watching since the middle of last season, just because it's not fun anymore. I tune in expecting my favorite Protoss heroes to get creamed, and that exact thing happens, and it's just depressing - I've already passed the stage of being cautiously hopeful. I watch to have fun or at least feel some sort of positive excitement. But right now, all I feel while watching is a sense of dread that is almost always realized. I don't think I'll be watching the GSL again for some time. It's just not fun. As a huge Alicia and MC fan, I'm done for now. At least MKP and MVP fans got to see their hero rise out of Code A and get back into Code S. Too bad this doesn't happen for the Protoss heroes. This isn't even a complaint about imbalance, though I guess it can't help but be implied. This is just a rant of a fan - a fan who has been with the GSL since FruitDealer's dream run - whose viewing experience has been utterly ruined. Good luck, MC. You singlehandedly made Protoss "OP". You were the first player to win two GSLs. You deserve so much more than what is happening right now. | ||
