1-1-1 refers to 1 Rax 1 Factory 1 Starport and generally means a mostly Marine Banshee Tank composition, going all-in with this composition is very difficult for Protoss to hold.

why is 1-1-1 suddenly the new early aggression tactic? 1-1-1's been out there for a while so why the sudden resurgence? Regardless, I think MC's tendency to go stargate first with 3 phoenix shuts down banshees and tanks easily.

Warpgate timing nerf, less units out and less chance of an all-out fourgate. Plus the build just became super refined whereas it seemed to be a vague build order in the past. Kind of like how people roach/ling allinned protoss in the past but you had almost an entire warpin earlier and there was no optimal build order discovered before Losira.

Phoenix allows for scouting though, so he can see if the tech lab is researching cloak and respond accordingly and he may have worked out the best timing. But smart players might learn to fake the research with some other cheap upgrade from the tech lab and cancel it, forcing a robo and obs.
Excited to watch MC play but I have a bad feeling in my stomach.  Show us the way.

I also hope he shows us whats up against DongRaeGu and his rather impressive Zerg style. For anyone who didn't see, he played some pretty epic games against Inca. The first one Inca almost managed a comeback like he did against Rain that one Code S season.

Some might say MC has a really tough group. But don't get it wrong, the only reason the group is tough is cause of MC.
Really, if MC wasn't there it would just be three silly terrans and some stupid zerg with 1k IQ points. No big deal really. But because MC the boss toss is in there, y'know, he brings some star power.
