Luckily I imagine MC will probably be spending countless hours working on defending 1-1-1 all-ins this week and he may be able to show us something cool. I've seen mentions of some phoenix build that hardcounters it?
MC's phoenix play may just be enough to deal with it... with micro as good as MC's, he should be able to harass to delay it, pick off Banshees, lift Tanks, etc. I'm not sure though, since many people say that the real way to deal with 1-1-1 is to expand ASAP and pump units out with a superior economy, so I don't know if phoenixes are also a good response. As much as many Terrans would like to say that 1-1-1 is very beatable with the right responses, we've seen so many strong Protoss players fall to it that we can conclude one of two things: The strongest Toss players are morons who just can't respond correctly to 1-1-1 for some reason, or, 1-1-1 is just ridiculously powerful and difficult to deal with consistently.

Yeah, I suppose mass zealot w/ enough sentries to cage in the marines and phoenix would be a good response, since the phoenix lift tanks/deal with banshees/etc. Should be able to tell if cloak is coming by using the phoenix to scout, but a clever player could always fake it and make him invest in a robo + obs or cannons. As far as it being a counter, if that's the only counter then it's stupid that the only response is to blindly go phoenix against terran.
Either way, if the best protoss in the world who probably has been practicing against this ever since losing to Bomber can't beat it, might be time to raise a little bit of a fuss lol.

If by a little bit of a fuss you mean an all out riot, then absolutely! Seriously though, if the best protoss in the world puts in countless hours in and still can't defend it, then you know something is ridiculously broken about it. Even the fact that very few if any professional protoss have ever been able to stop a well executed 1/1/1 with a ton of pulled scvs speaks volumes about the build.

Lol. Notice how I say some. Perhaps I should have phrased it differently. If he beats MC in even a best of 1, (assuming no hilarious cheese) given the hype surround this match, it will go a long way to putting to rest the his weak TvP reputation. Relax man, I have a brain.

Wow MC you have huge brass balls for picking those good Terrans to be in your group. You know they can't win a macro game against you and will 1/1/1 all in raven/banshee/marine/tank you. Hope you can defend it this time and go all the way to finals!

Well, he is in the second group of Code S so he should be playing on the first or second day of code S(Iforget if they do two groups at once for the first round?)

Btw guys you should watch the NASL pack with MC, I've been watching all his games over again. He seemed to be in a slump first but came out strong, deffinetly check him out. He has some seriously wicked strategies
