Question for Idra: You've said that you don't enjoy SC2 and only play it cuz its the main thing right now. I think i remember you saying you even hate the game? My question is, don't you think you're showing lackluster performance because you don't actually like the game? You're constantly facing opponents who actually enjoy playing, ofc they will have the upperhand against some1 who hates playing... I'm playing my game in pretty high level and I always say that i hate the game and it's bad etc. But I don't really mean it it's just some kind of "funny attitude" more common within fps-scene. I don't think he really hates the game, he is just talking. He sounded pretty serious on the last ITG (or maybe the one before that). He even said that the then upcoming showmatch with morrow was silly and he didn't wanna play it. I guess the follow-up question for Idra would be what he's gonna do to start performing again.
well if i was idra i wouldn't want to play showmatches either. I think he just wants to practice in peace and then play the big tournaments. Showmatches are just hurting him and even he would won one, i don't think it would change anything. I hope EG is starting to realize that idra doesn't want play showmatches at all and won't force him to play them anymore like now. He just needs little peace and lots of training with good players.

are the vods or replays gonna be available somewhere? i would like to see them poor little greg, hes so sad right now =( i think its all because he has shitty practice partners at the eg house or in general on the american server and he doesnt wanna play with latency. eg should sent huk and puma back to the lair so our greg gets some decent practice. otherwise hes not gonna get better quickly enough

How much more training and peace does he need to win? You can't blame his lackluster performance for some showmatches. (Now that I think of it, he was practicing for the Morrow showmatch, it was the Most Evil Genious vs HuK that he thought was a waste of time).

No, but they are making the things worse. Ofc he is always disappointed when he loses, but he can't win either if he doesn't want to play. Everyone will become depressed if he loses 16 rounds without winning even one. He needs to have a period without loses/new disappointments that he could play with less pressure in big tournament. In my opinion the only problem he has is his decidionmaking and it couldbe that bad because of his pressures.
And he need better practice partners like puma, it's no use to play against random American masters.

Will you losers please stop whining? Idra has done decently these two years (winning MLG,IEM,IPL etc and a lot of 2nd,3rd and 4th place finishes). Many pros have done far less than he has achieved. SC2 is a very competitive game. One does not simply expect idra to win everything. He is going through what sports fans would call "out of form". It happens to even the best of players (look how kaka is doing for real madrid!). It is only a matter of time before he finds his form again! cheers :D

He was looking forward to playing against Morrow and said he was going to practice hard for it, etc. It was the real deal - "LAN", Live audience, good prize pool.

For someone who couldn't watch the games, could anyone give a quick rundown of how the matches went? Are they worth watching?

Ofc it's not only his mindset, probably a combination of alot of things, but mindset being one of those since he's blaming the game/race/terran for whenever he loses. Blaming loss on other things than his own game doesn't really work you know. But hey, this is just personal speculations, can't know for sure unless Idra himself states it huh?
Results don't lie, and it was a long time ago he posted good results in anything.

Exactly my point. Just look at the current ELO rankings of TLPD to the right of TL. Stephano (zerg) at first place and Sen (zerg) at third and Leenock (zerg) at fifth place in korea. Zergs ARE doing fine.

Idra hasn't used word "imbalanced" for a long time. Usually he just says for example Vortex is retarded or zerg can't scout in early game very well. I think he is getting over that stage since he is already trying different styles vs. protoss

He doesn't have to say the word imbalanced for him to think something is imbalanced Retarded sounds like a synonym of Imbalanced to me, but whatever!

I like the idea of cheering IdrA up and showing that we care. I'm thinking maybe we could order a gift basket or something for him? I'm up for ordering a basket, I'll pledge to put in $20-30 bucks of my own money, anyone else interested? PM me with how much you want to give up and I'll organize something with donations via PayPal (i.e. you send money to me and tally it up I scam you all order the gift corresponding to the amount).
I'll give it until friday or so before I scrap the idea/go through with it.
This place: http://www.gifttree.com/ seems to be based in Phoenix and looks like it has some good stuff.
Waddya'll think?

Sigh........... hopefully by HoTS theyve fixed zerg enough it can be an enjoyable race to play You can't just throw in balance reasons as to why Zerg is doing poorly, thats just a lame excuse. The Zergs might not be doing well atm but blaming race when clearly something is off with IdrA is just delusional. I think he is getting over that stage since he is already trying different styles vs. protoss He doesn't have to say the word imbalanced for him to think something is imbalanced Retarded sounds like a synonym of Imbalanced to me, but whatever!
ofc it does. protoss nor zerg likes the "retarded" good /bad vortex game over storyline

Many pros have done far less than he has achieved. SC2 is a very competitive game. One does not simply expect idra to win everything. He is going through what sports fans would call "out of form". It happens to even the best of players (look how kaka is doing for real madrid!). It is only a matter of time before he finds his form again! cheers :D
seeing how starcraft 2 has only been competetive for about 2 years, winning a few tournaments in the start is no big deal, the first ever winner of GSL, Fruitdealer, has already quit playing and started coaching LoL... and the caliber of the players these days have increased by 9000% since the launch of the game. IdrA cant hold on to his old achievements for the rest of his career or many will lose hope to see their hero on top of the throne again.
