Those tank pushes man. You ain't gonna hold your third a minute after you put it down if you go roach. DRG's 2 base muta play has been shown to be very effective and Idra plays a similar style. Against what Kas was doing, roach would have been better, but Idra did pretty well anyways, he just engaged off creep and cross spawns metal is pretty difficult for Zerg once Terran gets the macro rolling.

Seriously, the guy has done this before but taken the subtle "passive aggressive" stance in order to be able to take a jab without looking like an instigator, he's done it before and he'll do it again and keep getting away with it.

another thing is that the Roach Warren is only 200 minerals (including drone), so it isn't a big deal to build one if you scout a few hellions

I think TvZ is the most balanced Match-up for the moment, at least it's a match-up wich allow the "strongest" player to win. I mostly wach Stephano and Dimaga when they stream and this is like 90% win-rate vs Terran. Also Idra has a scary TvZ and he looses verry rarely, and this is the same for all the greatest foreign zergs : Stephano, Ret, Idra, Dimaga, Nerchio -> they almost never loose to terrans unless theese one have the same level or are better. On the other hand they all seem to strugle more vs protosses.

since people KNOW idra will play super macro a all in cheese would fuck up so many of his opponents. he has started doing this in his ZvP (hyrda nydus pushes, spine ling pushes, muta switches) and his ZvP isnt so predictable. while his ZvT style is really freaking good it wouldn't hurt him to add in some random builds to fuck up the people who meta game him

Look at the top finishers... It does matter whether there'll be two #1s or two #2s in Idra's group tomorrow. The only good thing about finishing second is that he is much less likely to face Sen and Sheth.

roahcs dont do anything for you aside from keeping hellions away (which Idra can do with lings anyway) and they eat into your gas and are not something you want if your opponent switchs into something like 2 port banshee or a marine/tank push as a follow up
by using only zerglings to block the hellions he can still get banelings and his mutas out in good time and doesnt have to build useless units

Again you don't build alot so you can actually hold those tank pushes. Its not like you are making 15 roaches (you shouldn't be unless you are going to do a bust or something). You need 4-6 and thats it. No roach speed upgrade, nothing for them. Worth it imo gets your third faster, gets you map control, can scout around a bit as well to see if he is possibly doing a cheesy build (still 1 base for example), if he's doing a marauder/hellion push you will see it coming way before it gets to your base rather then right as soon as their on your creep you go "oh shit marine/marauder".
But I know idra wont' ever go roaches zvt, and for some reason any of the top zergs that do go roaches they feel they have to heavily commit to them which will never make since to me.

I could be wrong, but I don't think that IdrA lost because of Kas metagaming. IdrA really seemed to be playing poor especially in that second game. He didn't handle any of the engagements well either game, being very far out of position a lot of the time. I hope to see him kick back into regular ZvT mode tomorrow, but which IdrA will show up will be the difference between championship run or a disappointing loss to a lesser player.

Roach style...im not a fan of, the reason for this is that tank switches completely destroy the roach builds, the investment into earlier gas and cutting the 4 drones just for the RW and then the like? 12? you cut form making 5 or so roaches plus the gas?
Roaches cut into your eco a lot, and its fine to take a super quick 3rd as a justification, but that makes 9minuet Terran pushes extremely strong, especially because you have supply caught in useless roaches.

It actually doesn't. I am mid-high masters on korea (play high masters and gm's even on the server) and I hold that 9 minute push most of the time unless I supply block myself before the attack. It really doesn't put you behind or anything.
But the roaches are actually pretty good at tanking as well. So with ling/bane and the 4-6 roaches you have actually handle that 9 minute push really well .

i know the feeling everytime he plays im always so worried hes going to lose
but im pretty sure hes beaten Puma the last 2 times they faced and i think the last time HuK faced him he lost the real wild card is teh ZvZ
