On a serious note, I think IdrA is playing quite sloppy recently. A little bit like Jinro, making some really questionable decision making very often. I wonder if something is on his mind?

I don't want to say I know better. But I think Idra was heading for infestor brolords and he thought ling bane muta will gather enough advantage, since mutas aren't suppose to die, he would have excess gas to make the transition. The Gracken might have a little bit of stubborn nature... he needs back up plans or a smaller step transitions. I don't know where he's getting this muta over marine thing but he just need to learn closing out games he's won..
But all the EG guys seemed to have a bit of a trouble today... with the exception of Puma, who's still battling in open brackets. Maybe a bit harsh traveling? Maybe depression from puma smashing QQ

Machine actually did fairly well compared to his usual performances (he took a game off of bomber and beat haypro). Also if idra was heading towards infestor/broodlords (which he should have), there would be no reason to make mutas, as mutas just take up supply for that composition. Theres just no reason to make so many mutas when your opponent is going mass marine/tank. If he had made even 2 infestors that game he would've won it.

Yeah, it's not his decision-making that's worrisome. It's his mechanics slipping. He missed a lot of injects in game 2 and he had the infestation pit in time and gas/larva/supply to start pathogen glands and subsequently infestors, but just... didn't. Until he saw the push coming.

I just had an idea in the shower to help IdrA win again. Okay here is the plan. I'll get some type of deadly cancer. I'll make myself confined to a wheelchair and shit. Then next MLG Dallas, I'll meet up with IdrA in an elevator. Tell him that I'm Whole and that I have a life expectancy of 3 days...when MLG ends. Then when we part ways while walking out the elevator, I'll roll around and ask IdrA, "IdrA can you do me a favor?"
"Sure man, what is it?"
"Please win." *cough*
Now if he doesn't win, I'll die unhappy and mentally scar IdrA for the rest of his life. If he does win,. I'll die smiling and make IdrA feel like a total badass...or maybe I'll even not die and make IdrA feel like god.
edit: Oh, and if I mentally scar IdrA, he'll be determined to win future events in memory of me. So basically it is a win/win situation...but how do I get cancer first?

I won't lie "He missed a lot of injects" is a massive understatement.

It definitely seemed like his mechanics were slipping hard that game. Usually with pushes like that Idra does a trade off then you see 60+ lings in the production bar not 20-30. Day9 mentioned at the start of the game he believed his injects weren't up to scratch so I was hoping he would be a better job at tracking the queens energy

Everyone talking about idrA's GF... I heard on LZ or TLO's stream that they broke up

he didnt have queens at northern bases yet and the the nat and main one probably died during that push. also when the marines get to that point where they can cutoff your reinforcements, there is no way back. unless you have 5 ultras popping at a time

His queen in the main, nat and 3rd were ALL floating 150 energy.
That's unacceptable when you have 3 queens between 4 hatches.

Idra didn't lose to Sjow for anything involving macro, strategy, or anything else. He lost for one reason: he engaged 40 marines with 30 mutalisks. Twice.
People criticizing his massing of mutalisks vs Marine/Tank do not understand the ZvT matchup. Idra literally only needed like 5-6 banelings to take out Sjow's army both times, and both times he had absolutely no reason to engage when he did. He should have just sacrificed the base Sjow was attacking both times because he was way ahead BOTH TIMES, and just engage with 6 Banelings and win the game because he wouldn't have lost a single muta that way.

Well he needs 6 banelings to connect so he needed basically his whole ground army to be banelings, which again is totally fine! Keep sacrificing bases and get the banes you need then attack. Sad day

So what happens now? Is he out of the tournmanent?

Six banes don't just connect, but the engagements could have been better. Like MrDudeMan said, had he made just 2 infestors in both games the series would have been decisively won by him.
The control was otherwise pretty good imo. Just needs more macro and something that marines don't counter.
