I've been browsing through TED videos for the greater part of the day, and a thought hit me like a sledgehammer to the face: getting Sean to speak at a TED conference. Good god, would he be perfect for a TED speech! He has the perfect mix of charm and commitment to the cause that would make him a hit, and more importantly would really help spread the idea of professional gaming on the massive global scale that we all fantasize about

I'm looking at ways to possibly get him on the list of speakers for an upcoming TED. Anybody have any ideas or comments on this?

Sigh me up. He way better then Tasteless in my opinion in Sc2 and Sc1 even tho Tasteless is funny at times during Sc1, but i think Day9 is overall better then Tasteless on game explaining what's going on in a scene

Yes! Thats a great idea first of all.

I wouldn't mind talking about it beyond this comments, but here are a few things that come to mind:

- I'm not sure how difficult it would be to get him as a speaker, but sometimes they have city based TEDx conferences (they had one in Toronto, Canada not long ago) where it is easier to recommend speakers.
- There should be several ways to make his applications desirable since the community is a fairly growing/trending one (specially after the recent GDC)
- Look for similar presentations and maybe point out similarities and differences
- Ask here if you have any questions on what to fill in but don't sweat it.
- It would be great if his presentation had some sample videos of games being commented or analysis being done.

Maybe Sean himself would like to comment himself? It is permissible for him to apply himself.
