Currently, SMEnt claims to be the most profitable label in Korea. This will be in direct conflict with your premise of members being paid large sums of money. Large number of members drawing a large salary each will no doubt eat into SMEnt profits. Hence, I believe, they are mere slaves living off a measly sum due to a contract they signed when they were desperate to be stars. | ||

You make it sound like they got the money in like 2 years and were part of a 9+ member group. Those "stars" that were desperate to be stars probably wouldn't have become "stars" if they didn't become part of a group. Even though they might be slaves, they chose to become slaves for SM. They had a way out, like Soyeon from T-ara did, but they chose to stay. Also, I believe those slave stars can make more money after they are freed from their contracts or through individual projects. | ||
