Yeah dude, it clearly has nothing to do with that. But whatever, keep defending it.
I didn't deny that some people watch these with certain intentions, there's nothing that stops them; I only pointed out that people can have a whole lot of reasons to watch these. Some people watch Snow White, just to fap to that one ugly dwarf; some people have sex with objects, ... not what they were intended for, but it happens.
Yeah and some watch porn for the plot. There is a pretty big % difference in people jerking off to the fat dwarf in Snow white compared to these fancams.
Doesn't matter what you do with it, a lot of people will think you are a creep for it.
These fancams were made for entertainment purposes, so that fans can watch their favourite artists perform in 1080p, from closeby. Yes, they can be consumed in any way possible, but that doesn't mean that everyone who watches them is automatically a creep. Don't judge every viewer based on your own personal projections.
ARTIST. A normal fan would enjoy the performance by the entire group. As it's a fucking group performance.
Right now, you sound like that one mom at the playground that accuses every father of being a paedophile, because they play with their children or keep an eye out so that they don't hurt themselves.
More like, right now you are trying to defend and justify yourself for filming my kids every step at the park.

A whole 2-3 days? Well that changed the game right there.
Why would it be creepy watching someone you like perform? Even if it's filmed in a sexual way it's not creepy. You aren't attracted to humans? It's not like you are stalking them in the woods. You are watching someone on a stage ffs., You are kinda supposed to look at them and especially with Kpop there is so much more than the vocal part. The cute little quirks, waving at the camera, the choreo, the mistakes etc etc.
Is this honestly creepy to you? Man I don't even know what to say.. I don't think you know what the word creepy means.

Oh yeah to stare at this one girl the entire time.
i dont really care for fan cams for the sole reason that sometimes you are just watching the performer stand still, catch his/her breath or really do nothing while the other members are singing/dancing. however, i think you are taking this overboard. watching a fancam singling out a girl is no more creepy than watching a normal mv and just staring at one girl.

Way to go with ignoring everything I wrote lol. Just curious are the 15 year old girls who only watch their favourite One Direction member creepy too? Or is it just when males are watching females?
I think there is a huge difference in just watching one person and filming them.
Checking out a girl/guy walking past you is fine. Filming her/him is not and just creepy.
And ofc it's the same for girls filming one guy in One Direction / B1A4 / EXO whatever.
I also think it's different to just watch your favourite members perform and filming just her/him the entire time. Because you always see the rest if you are just watching. Because human eyes doesn't have zoom and broader field of view. So even if you are just following one member you see the rest in your FoV. So you still see the performance as a whole.
But then again, people have tried to argue that you can't listen to male artists because they are straight in this thread. So I should probably just take it for what it is.
these are performance artists, not people walking down the street. filming them while doing performances is not creepy at all.
i really dont understand your distinction between zoning in on an artist during the performance with your naked eye and with a camera. both seem equally normal/creepy to me.
nothing wrong with listening to male artists. they are much better dancers and have better choreography generally in kpop (my opinion).
There is nothing weird about watching a performer perform whether as a group or alone. It seems like you are trying to say it is voyeuristic but the performers are aware people are taking videos of them and they even encourage it. Besides without fancams Hani's butt couldn't have saved EXID.
Speaking of which EXID's latest mini is the best collection of kpop in a long while. Fancams saving kpop

Yeah, why would scientists want to use microscopes and only look at a single cell?
Yeah, some how filming solo artists is okay, but now we film a singular person in a band while they're performing, i'ts now "creepy."
lmao, how about we just appreciate the genius that is Pharkil, that single handily shot EXID, and Hani into the frontpage of Korean news with a focused fan cam?

Even if you just keep looking at Suzy here, you still see the others perform in your field of vision. You will still see the rest of the performance. But the single target-cam doesn't allow you to do that. Hope it makes it clearer what I mean.

The difference is that you don't miss out on the performance when they are solo artists because they are doing the entire performance themselves. They are the ones in focus the entire time.
If you would watch just 1 member of EXO you'd miss 9/10 of the performance. Or just 1 member of SNSD you'd miss 7/8. And deliberately watching 1/10 or 1/8 of the performance is weird.
Yeah, why would scientists want to use microscopes and only look at a single cell?
That's a fucking bad comparison. If this is performance entertainment as everyone keeps saying. A more logical comparison would be muting the TV when everyone BUT Jennifer Lawrance talks in The Hunger Games. Might as well just focus on 1 person right?

At this rate, you could easily start bitching at people for watching only a soloist/group and ignoring back dancers or the 20 minutes on Processing animated backdrop. What kind of weirdo watches the performers instead of the entire stage? It's a fucking production not a small/poor/low key/unplugged venue.
Spoiler: The average person is, you, most certainly included, are, not Flash. You do not have mental map hacks enabled, you can't meta view life, you are not an omniscient narrator. Attention will inevitably focus/linger on an individual/cluster/point in space, your conscious might lie to yourself you've been watching all the action taking place the entire time, but it's still a lie. You've only one set of eyes with a viewing capacity of about 150 by 110 degrees per eyes with only a magnitude of 70% being functional vision. For optimum viewing stance you'll have to be placed 50 feet away, if not greater, at which point you're looking at people occupying 1/12th of your view and their face occupying far less. When I say optimum, I mean for a director, a person who is meant to get an idea of the big picture. If person close up and staring at only one person is objectifying, it's equally dehumanizing to choose to sit a far enough to turn a performer into a simple faceless cog in a mass. At the very least the former can view his object as an individual, they can clearly see their expressions, movement, and possess the capacity to understand their feelings. With your detachment and distance you "enjoy" the group, but relegate the performers as insignificant portions of a greater sum. You will never perceive their joy or sorrow or exhaustion. Clowns without makeup.
Are some people that consume pancams being creepy? Sure. Do you possess the high ground? Certainly, it, you do not have, young Jedi.

Why are you even arguing? You obviously disregard any decent argument made for fancams and focus on your 'well most people think it's weird' point when in fact you have no proof or knowledge of what 'most people' actually think of it. This 'discussion' doesn't accomplish anything but mindless spam. If you don't like these fancams, don't watch them. If you don't like something, it doesn't mean anyone else can't, so please, stop wasting your and everyone else's time.
On April 18 2015 04:04 Lonyo wrote: So, like, if there's a fancam of a solo artist, that's totally not creepy in any way, right? Because solo artist. Not part of a group performance.
Because if you watch a solo artist you're watching it for the performance, if you're watching a solo focused fancam you nust be masterbating to it.

? I've not talked about "most people" or "almost all" or whatever synonym you want. Why would I need to back up something I've not even mentioned?
uh you're not really 'missing out' on 7/8 of the performance if you only focus on one person, especially considering they're all doing the same retarded choreo. sometimes you like a group for the individual member and not the other way around.
even in music videos, there are cuts of individual members doing the choreo and it's proof that the industry is cognizant of the notion that not every member is as appealing to each fan. maybe you just don't give a fuck about boram or qri but you like jiyeon or something, there's no contrived naive bullshit about the 'Power of X'. you simply like what you like and I don't really see what's so creepy about that.
focusing on a specific part of their body would be definitely be crossing the line though.
