property investment has been one of the less popular choices of investment in korea for a long time. buying property in highly developed areas such as gangnam, chungdam etc generally has led to lots of people losing money or breaking even. the value of your property is unlikely to rise when your area is already fully developed, but can fall extremely easily due to a number of reasons. if youre looking to just increase your assets to avoid income tax or something then its not a terrible choice to buy property, but from a investment point of view buying property in the heart of seoul isnt the best choice | ||

But since someone else has I feel inclined to support them and say I agree almost entirely. I haven't been in Korea for 3 years now so things could have changed but basically everywhere I went the big commercial lots for rent type buildings where about half full. Supply has well out stripped demand in most places. Gangnam might be a bit different the fact that its a popular and rich area might make its prices always stay high, but everywhere not particularly special I went to you'd visit the bar, restaurant, shop whatever it was and there would be floors above you that where completely abandoned with nothing there.
