Cuz at least 60% of this thread is filled with SM shit. And that's why K-Pop is really flawed as it is because half the people here can't notice that anyone else is good besides SM produced groups and idols. In order for singers other than idols to be really recognized mainstream, the singer has to have built up enough of a reputation to be recognized in what they do (Lee Soo Young, Baek JiYoung, Rain, Hyori), or be absurdly talented in a major company (Davichi, SeeYa, SG Wannabe, VOS). At least in Japan Perfume, Morning Musume, and Kat-Tun aren't dominating the charts every single time like how 2PM, SNSD, and SuJu do all the time.

This is never the case in K-Pop. Blackjack members / 2NE1 fans are the worst about this. It's 2NE1 or nothing, everyone else that isn't part of YG is considered inferior. True SNSD fans aren't much different either. You mention Taeyeon being way off tune during her duet with Park HyoShin fans go nuts because they think you're bashing them. During Dream Concerts fanclubs fight over seating because the better seating fanclubs get is used as an indicator of how worthy their group is.

edit: my chobo friend (who never played bw and plays dota) wants to be a "pro sc2 commentator" just came by to help him and he gave shout outs to kpf/tl/kpop. was a live stream event+ commentary of his website (giant bomb) doing an invitational. and yea g-masta/gee the official theme/victory songs of sc livestreams ^^
