I don't usually put much stock in stuff off NB or netizens in general because they don't actually represent all of Korea like a lot of international fans would have you believe, but I definitely think this isn't a good situation for them. You don't usually see articles getting this amount of upvotes, plus the number of articles and how many views this is getting on youtube and facebook and all that. I think people see a lot of different problems with all of it, the worst of which is Kara being disrespectful to their seniors which you can clearly see in the video and that obviously that doesn't fly. Who knows what can be dug up now that everyone is on a witch hunt for Kara, so I guess its just wait and see now. Not much could come of this in the end or something else could happen and this ends up being the new T-ara. It was Hara yelling at Kyuhyun and slamming her waterbottle down in his direction. Also I guess all of Kara were interrupting the MCs several times throughout the show. The crying just made it awkward for everyone, MCs and viewers. Radio Star is a show where you should expect to have anything thrown at you and there really was no reason for any of them to cry if they had thought it through beforehand. Especially Jiyoung, crying because she doesn't like it when people ask her to do aegyo, wtf.

No, not in particular she just killed the mood and refrained from answering the question. These shows are scripted, the questions are scripted, they knew what was coming, and even if it was an ad lib she could have requested to move to a different subject. I don't think the MCs felt disrespected in anyway, they were just taken aback by how she responded. With Jiyoungs case, she apparently, gave off the "I'm too good for this shit" vibe turning down the aegyo request, so people are pretty angry with them. One netizen comment in particular stuck out, it was something along the lines of "Some other groups would kill to be in your position, do you guys not remember what you guys had to do when you were nobodies?" I think the hatred is blown out of proportion, but KARA definitely could have dealt with that much differently than they did. And just to throw it out, Star Radio is known to ask awkward and uncomfortable questions all the time. If I recall correctly, IU was on the show and they bugged her about the IU-Eunhyuk scandal, and her relationship with them, she answered pretty clear and had no troubles. T-ara was asked what they thought about their scandal, and Hwayoung, they cried too, but answered the questions just fine. I'm not sure if people even care about them anymore though. One of the MCs of Star Radio released an apology too, but I don't think it's going to help KARA, it'll probably make the situation worse.

And let's be honest, its not awkward and uncomfortable till someone actually says something incriminating, like "i'm actually dating a guy 10 years older than me and slept with him only after dating for 1 month" or "she's such a loser, that's why we picked on her"

They didn't get into any details (like always). If they asked direct questions regarding her personal life and she cried over that, sure thats understandable, but in this case, it makes me scratch my head rather than feel awkward.

I haven't seen the Jiyoung clip, but I could easily see an overreaction to refusing to do aegyo when asked by elders on a popular TV show. The Korean public seems very quick to attack any celebrity that doesn't always act overly humble and grateful. Again, I think it's silly, but not surprised considering what I've seen before in Korea.

[News] Yoon Jong Shin and 'Radio Star' writer speak up in defense of KARA Since the latest airing of 'Radio Star', KARA has been feeling the heat from viewers and netizens, who have severely criticized the girls' attitudes and reactions displayed on the show. In response to the negative comments aimed at the girls, one of the MCs of the show, Yoon Jong Shin,as well as the show's writer have spoken up in their defense. For those who keep up with Korean portal sites, you may have seen KARA's 'Radio Star' appearance articles consistently rank in the most popular section throughout the whole day. Many netizens remarked that the girls seem to have a case of the celebrity disease and have lost their humbleness, and that their emotional outbursts were uncalled for, especially since they were the ones who agreed to go on the show even when they are well aware about the teasing and nosy nature of 'Radio Star'. Seeing the immense backlash towards the girls, Yoon Jong Shin tweeted apologetically,"Although they came to have fun, if it doesn't go as well as they hoped it would, it's normal to cry.. Isn't the human heart like that.. Although 'Radio Star's way of speech is usually like that, the guests' feelings are still the first priority." "I think that their tears were the most honest response.. We were being harsh like we always are.. so if one was to get cursed at, we should be the ones to get it.. Not everyone can respond to our questions with wit and laughter.. They were probably things that the members had a hard time while experiencing.. So as one of the ones who took the most active role, it is my fault.. I'm sorry ^^" One of the writers of the show, Kim Tae Hee, also spoke in defense of KARA: "The KARA I know is polite and kind compared to other girl groups, and they're likable idols who are also good at variety! Although there were emotional moments during the filming, they were able to get over it with laughs and do their best, so we're thankful for them! Don't speak badly of them! They are pretty and nice girls". Mod edit: Link to article instead of putting the actual text.
