To ensure this thread won't be closed, you must adhere to several a number of simple rules;
  • Please use spoilers when quoting a post with pictures and/or videos.
  • When posting large quantities of media (pictures or videos), please begin spoilering after the first piece. Grouping related videos in the same spoilers & labeling is recommended.
  • No reposting of old material unless justified
  • Posting any material with little or no relevent discussion accompanying it
  • No passion-induced flaming of each other because 'x said y sucked' etc.
  • Keep the expression hate of music individuals/groups to a minimal level
  • No 'pagetopping' in any form whatsoever, as it constitutes spam equal to posts similar to 'first'.
  • No vulgar fan fics or wet dream stories. It is creepy, weird, and it dehumanizes the people who you are here to celebrate/discuss.
  • Normal posting standards that you find throughout the rest of the site still apply and will be enforced more strictly from here forward (2012/03/11)

Due to the poor nature of this thread in the past, temporary two-day bans will occur more than often if people slip up.

Harman/Kardon hk450 30x2 watt receiver/amp.
Powering Dayton b562
Also got Senn HD 280 pro.

Looks cool man. I'm pretty nooby when it comes to audiophile stuff. I've got a pair of Sennheiser HD215 which do the job but I'm interested in getting more out of my music. What's the deal with the amp and do you download FLAC's of albums?

I originally had a Dayton t-amp 15x2 watt amp, but I saw quite a few vintage receivers, and they look sick as fuck so I craigslisted this HK450 for 40 bucks, recently. The HK450 I have is from the late 70's (pretty old ass hardware).

I only have FLAC's of certain albums, but none for kpop. Soundstage for kpop is nonexistent, so going beyond 320kbps mp3 format is a bit pointless.

Interesting stuff. Sorry to get off track, but could you recommend any entry level amps or again is it kind of lost on kpop?

Here is how I listen to my kpop (and a ton of other things):

Titanium HD as DAC
Little Dot MKIV SE with stock tubes
Beyers DT880 600Ohm

I have to agree that kpop as pretty much no soundstage at all, I can't always hear a difference between FLAC and 320kbps and if I do it's barely anything. FLAC isn't really worth it for kpop imo.

Well any jump from crappy typical computer speaker to passive speakers is going to help a lot with any kind of music. (any passive speakers require amp). Depends on what you're looking for in an amp. Lepai is great just for speaker amps, that you don't need to be too loud (i believe they're 20 watts a channel), but they don't have any headphone connectors for amping headphones.
Oh, noticed you're from Aus (if that's accurate). I heard getting tech in Australia is a bitch. Could try craigslisting some amps.

320 is useless anyways. v0 is the same thing except in a more efficient format.

I don't listen to a lot of Kpop but the mixing is generally not that bad for modern standards. Sure there's little to no dynamic range (just like most other other modern pressing) but it's not too painful to listen to from my experience. My main rig revolves around a pair of STAX SR-007s and SR-507s.

Whoa you guys are legit :O

I just have RE-262 IEMs and k240 studios with a tiny little E6 amp and normal hp crappy sound card ;__;

Mostly sounds pretty alright to me though lol, I'm not that good at hearing nuanced differences in audio.

^Second that, a STAX SR-007 is pretty crazy.

I also have an RE-262, but use my HD555 / RE-0 + CMoyBB as amp

Plexa: TL gives excellent advice 99% of the time. The problem is no one listens to it.

Heh, I also have an E6 amp as well; for my zune with my SoundMagic e10's.

Also, IGAB album not bad, there a few quality tracks in it. Still not sure why they chose IGAB as their title song though.
Gunna give it a few more run throughs.

2Yoon mini-album has a few good songs in it as well.

I use a SRH550DJ and hook it up to my J3 + iBasso D-Zero for when I'm on the go. But if I'm too lazy to hook up the amp I have my Monster Pro Gold Turbines.

When at home I hook up the D-Zero and use it as a DAC and pair it with my Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro (250 ohm version).

Sun Ye was always taking a break after the wedding while the rest of the group did solo/sub-unit work. That AKP article didn't give any information that hadn't been stated from the start. Not sure why you guys are making a big deal out of it now. She is still listed as a WG. Nothing is set in stone just yet. The article headline was extremely misleading. It is AKP of course.

As far as relevant? The 2012 sales total were posted not too long ago. They did more than fine.

the korean articles they used as sources indicated that she was only stopping promotions so akp made a translation mistake (which theyve fixed).

Low-end audiophile gear is fairly affordable, at least for speaker set up, in amurika anyways.

Phantom's new album, not quite as good as their last, but I still enjoy that MV they did for it. Also, ~11 days till sistar19. so hyped.
