Gonna have to give NEP a big fat NOPE. Well i dont mind the rookie groups that start off with the "norm" music, they're probably just trying to play it safe (a bit like starcraft sure going for some cheesy/new strat might be cool but if ur starting as a new player probably best to stick with the standards) if they did something crazy and it fails well thats a lot of hardwork gone and people will think of that everytime. I just like to keep tabs on the rookies bands, even if dont like their debut song, cause u dont know if u wont like every song they come out with. Just saying ![]() That being said yeah...that mv was pretty boring ![]() ![]()

I don't know what made them think that Koreans making american pop music (with a bonus accent) would be more attracting to the masses than any pop

That was just me making a bad pun.

I'm moving myself to the "don't give a fuck about any more new groups until they release at least 4 good songs" camp, regardless of all other factors. My quota of shits to give is exhausted. I would buy a Hwayoung cd, though. @Jarzai: listen to the wonder years, it's a decent album as kpop goes. If you don't like WG after that you won't ever.

I see them as a second tier, gross kpop act trying to make it in America, but this can change. Apparently everyone loves them, I need the top 5 songs for me to listen to gogo. I WANT TO UNDERSTAND. + Show Spoiler + They didn't even do the dance justice. As far as good WG songs their older stuff is a whole lot better than their new stuff, like everything before and maybe even including Nobody.

If its comforting to any T-ara fans, I can still hear a crowd yelling fanchants clearly, but Im not sure how it works with prerecordings. Payed off a bunch of random people to be loud, extra $30 each if no one threw anything. As long as Hyomin keeps looking good I will keep watching, even though the song sucks and the rap sounded even worse live somehow.

When I was 9-11 years old, my dad was in the US Air Force. He was stationed to Korea, so in 1994 we moved to Hannam / Yongsan-dong in Seoul. We lived there for 2 years. Anyway some of my fondest memories from my childhood were made living in Korea. I loved it so much. I remember going to Yongin Farmland (now called Everland), the Korean version of Disney World. During these visits and times being taken to the markets and streets of Seoul, I can remember hearing Korean music. I loved it and came to recognize many songs. Unfortunately I didn't take enough notice of what the songs' names were or who the artists were, or if I did, I've forgotten over the years. Now, I am trying to recreate the experiences of the songs from my childhood. Since I don't know any of the artists or songs, only the sound, I have no idea where to begin to look for what the top pop songs were from the 1993-1997 era of popular Korean music. I remember that the songs were much less 'Americanized' than the modern Korean pop, they had a sound to them all their own. My question is: Is there someone here who could help me find a site or collection of music from this era? It would be so amazing to listen to again, and to share with my family who would also probably remember it with fond memories as well. Thanks in advance!

Earliest group I got any interest in is FinKL but this is what I found maybe it can help you: http://english.chosun.com/site/data/html_dir/2012/07/19/2012071901587.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_South_Korean_idol_groups#1990s On a different note that Nep song is really good and catchy! Gonna have to keep my eyes open.
