Still not going to buy that shitty series or the Kinect, but it's kind of cool.

A lot of K-Pop has some interesting sounds that may get some time getting used to, though. I don't know if your friends can handle the broken English, because some of mine can't. I actually introduced one of my friends to kpop through Electric shock. It wasn't on purpose but surprisingly good reception. I personally still cringe inside at Krystal's "laser" line even though I love the song. Taking a tally of successful intro songs I've used we have Gee (4.5) + Show Spoiler + The half on Gee and Lovey Dovey is the same person, I actually showed him Gee but he came back a day later playing Lovey Dovey on loop for like 5 hours straight. Lovey Dovey (1.5) Electric Shock (1) Cry Cry (1) Interesting to note that Gee/Lovey were all males and the other 2 were females. (Both of these girls had seen Gee before to no effect). Although I'm convinced that the actual factor that gets you into kpop is having a bias. Obviously you can't have a bias without an introduction first but without a bias, it seems to stagnate at a handful (2-6) of songs. Once you have a bias though, you pretty much snowball yourself into kpop madness.

This has been my background since I got into kpop. Even though she isn't my bias, not even in SNSD, everytime I have switched I feel a sense of loss.

Agree on those being good picks, but let me drop a wild card for ya. I had huge success with YaYaYa. As wtf as that might sound, that is exactly the point. Many people will assume that what you're showing them is nothing but a troll in the first place, so by going with something as extremely wtf as that, there is no risk whatsoever as you've always got a free ticket out, and it'll make most people laugh. It might not be a good song in itself, but you get a secondary reason to introduce people to it, making it easier to push onwards towards giving them the real deal.

To be fair, that is a stupidly adorable picture.

Might try YaYaYa, so far the only korean song my friends have accepted is Gangnam style. In no small part due to the video, which can definitely be considered "extremely wtf". ![]()

Once you have a bias though, you pretty much snowball yourself into kpop madness. Here are the songs I have tried using with multiple friends at different venues and on the playlist. Surprisingly, people don’t like it when you try to sandwich in T-ara’s “Like the first time” with Usher’s”Scream” and David Guetta’s “Titanium”. Who knew? Wonder Girls • Like Money • Stop! • SuperB Miss A • Love Alone -Got the worse reaction =( T-ara • Like the first time 2NE1 • I love you SNSD • Gee • Genie • Boys Hyuna • Bubble Pop The bold are the songs I tried at the party. The SNSD songs I avoided from that party because of the reactions I received from friends when I tried playing it in front of them. “What is this? Kids Bop?” I cringe whenever I get that reaction! Same reason why I have avoided playing a song like Lovey Dovey around any of my friends. I agree with the bias theory. I didn't start to snowball untill I had my Sunny bias. After that it was all downhill. Once I had all the SNSD songs I wanted, I started to expand out to the other groups.

Gangnam style is a bad intro song imo, it'll give the wrong impression of Kpop to kpop virgins. Epik high is pretty good intro too, w/ wannabe, and run
