Just because the video doesn't have views and people don't talk about yoonji here doesn't mean she's an ignored artist. I watched the MV but it wasn't at youtube and just didn't really have anything to say about her songs other than I liked them which would've been a boring 1 liner.

I'm obviously talking about foreigner fans here. I got 0 clue how the song is doing on korean charts but it's quite clear there is absolute 0 interest from foreigners... And it can't be because the song is bad, because it isn't honestly. Even if it were, people wouldn't know either way since they haven't watched. I know US got the biggest kpop fan base outside of korea(maybe Japan or a country like Malaysia got more) but that doesn't mean that EU people don't watch and obviously there is more than 20K EU Kpop fans.. I don't get it at all.

How insightful... I'm not whining at all. I'm simply just trying to understand why certain groups can hit millions of hits under a day while others can't hit 20K. Their releases get posted on the exact same pages, people see them in the same categories when they browse for music. It's just odd. Yeah she or other less popular female solo artists(It's not just about her to be honest) aren't as established but they still perform on the same TV shows right after each other. I guess i'll stop this topic since you get mad and cry for nothing. We should all go back to poll questions I guess, so much more fun than to have interesting discussions.

HomePlus is a South Korean/British discount store retail chain jointly owned by Samsung and Tesco with 113 branches throughout South Korea. They are the second largest retailer in South Korea! So yeah, IU is kinda a a big deal.

There were some discussions recently that I would have liked to be apart of, but I guess I banned myself in the first place because I needed the time I would have otherwise spent in those discussions. That being said, I'll just leave a couple thoughts here. Firstly, I applaud all of you who participated in the ass discussion, a very worthy cause. I also cant help but to comment on Firehands almost kafkaesque admission of his love for Kpop, even though it was creepy and he did sound like a 14 year old girl holding something in for that long will cause such results. Lastly I recall someone quite recently saying that IU wasn't pure, while I would usually demand said persons head on a platter I would like to give him a chance to support his claims. I am a rational man and would like to see such evidence brought to light in the case that I need to re-evaluate my idolatry of our Lee Ji Eun.

Enlighten me where I yelled at someone who disagreed with me... Most outrageous thing I've heard in a long time.
Someone offered a theory: "The fact that the video is blocked in the US MIGHT have something to do with it". I replied I don't think that's the reason. Is that your definition of yelling? Genuinely baffled.

does she deserve more attention? sure. Is it a mystery why she, and in extension other artists, don't get much in reality? not really.
you answered your own question in earlier posts:
she's not under the big 3 companies, hence less promotion within korea and less attention globally. nor does she have an established fanclub that forces the video to go viral through spamming social networks, or running scripts that inflate viewer count.
everyone said that the song was meh but the mv was hot, so unless you're watching the mv a lot, there's less attention on her once again. It's not like she had a catchy song that was widely accepted in the past either, so as a solo artist what she's done for herself is pretty decent if not something to write home about.
what I'm postulating is honestly common knowledge for someone like you who browses/posts in this thread regularly.

your fanboy is showing. don't accuse me of shutting down legitimate discussion when there's really not a discussion-worthy topic in the first place.

What do people expect? She used to look weird(very weak face), her songs were never good, and her voice is nothing special. So, she gained very few fans over time. This is no surprise to me, she has always been a low tier kpop artist and I was confused every time she came back. She is getting the amount of attention she deserves, you can't depend on body alone.
