Might be biased but I agree with you. Always thought that A Pink's songs were well composed/well produced. I can't tell if Pledis is going downhill because I've never been a fan of AS musically, I can't judge the popularity of their boy group, and Hello Venus is too new (and seem to be doing kinda well for rookies). | ||

Inclined to agree on this Pledis does not actually have a good track record apart from exceptions like Because of you or Shampoo(not really but yea it's catchy), I didn't like red and blue stuff much though. Anyways, the Hello Venus mini wasn't the worst time I wasted, that's sort of a compliment right, and track 3 was ok. As for Apink I find most of their songs ok bordering on likable, except hush I hate it, most of that album in fact I did not like. | ||

Hush sounds better on album than it does live, and other than the dumb rap is pretty good to me. A Pink tends to have a lot of random spoken english intros that I hate because whoever wrote them clearly doesn't speak english well, and apparently Cube has no one on staff in the position to correct it. They seem to exist only to give Yookyung more singing/camera time, and as someone who is not a yookyung fan I wouldn't mind them being removed entirely. I found 고양이/cat to be catchy, especially the intro, and either that or Bubibu would be a good follow-up track for them should they consider continuing to promote after they're done with Hush. Step can be good at parts but lost me a bit in the verses, although that may be because I didn't understand much of it. Might be better if you actually know what all of the Korean means. The other 4 tracks are forgettable but at least not terrible. All in all a lot better than a lot of girl groups can do and impressive considering that there was around 4-5 months in between the end of My My promotions and the release of Une Annee. edit- no idea why I decided to do a mini album review so long after the album came out. Guess I finally got time. Also I'm glad that they chose to stick with their sound/concept since debut. They're gonna outgrow it eventually but I can appreciate some consistency cause there usually is none in kpop. Cube artists in general seem to do this rather well; I can't say I like 4minute but they haven't really changed. | ||

Felt compelled to share my piece as Dystopia took the time to do so. Since I did not remember most of the tracks I skimmed most of them, it seems I don't like the cutesy stuff too much: Hush, cat, Bubibu. Hush is not my cup of tea I kinda hate the track, Bubibu's intro and chorus were an instant turn off, Cat's whole progression seemed off. On to the rest not as cutesy tracks: Step caught my attention for a bit but ultimately was too repetitive, I got you was a weird one as I kinda enjoyed the verses up until the chorus, Up to the Sky was the one I enjoyed the most probably because it's such a different style than what they usually do, but in the end it really didn't matter as the rap killed it. Boy is there that is all. It seems we have different tastes and that is completely normal. I will agree though it is certainly better than most groups out there. Cube takes its time and does best by their artists as far as I can see. I do not like 4minute either, do like jiyoon though I saw some cover, it was nice + Show Spoiler [cover here for the curious] + | ||

@Vorgrim I don't like her as a singer, 4 minute is not really good at that. Original feels like a female JYP singing in his soft voice it's weird to me. | ||
