If A Pink is able to come out with anything that is even close to that I'd be very happy.

Mad props to her, I teared up a bit when she was interviewed about how she had to go on weird shows and always be funny etc or they wouldn't be famous. I thought they were famous because of mister. Actually, on second thought, i'm pretty sure they are famous because of mister, although i do like their songs before that.
According to the video Mister wouldn't even have come about if it wasn't for hanseungyeon. They really struggled in the start and DSP was really close to kicking them all out and going bust it seemed. She was the only one who could book jobs(MSL Break etc) Probably if she couldn't book anything and the rest not getting anything done DSP wouldn't have had any reason to keep them. Especially since SNSD were taking over.

Of course DSP has reason to keep them. They paid money training them before their debut. It's in their best interest to make sure that kara is successful. And its weird how hsy carried kara. I mean she was the only one who could book jobs? really? what about hara? what about nicole? I find that strange.

As a Korean Kpop group I'd say Kara is kind of unsuccessful, especially considering their debut date. Their success lies in Japan, and as far as I know, Hara is one of the main reasons why they are so popular over there.
I genuinely liked Sistar's album, and in my opinion Twinkle is one of the best albums that has been released in the past year or so.

If you don't think KARA is succesfull in Korea then there frankly aren't many groups who are.

As for who was good, I didn't like Sistar, Big Bang was sorta nice but I don't like their music as much(I can see why people would like it though), Tae Ti Seo had 1 good song on the album and 1 mediocre(pretty nice). GsD was dissapointing apart from 1 song.
Am I the only one who really liked the 4minute album?

No offense, but I'm sure that has nothing to do with the fact that it has Tiffany in it. I'd be lying if I said that it doesn't affect my opinion. But nearly every song on the album is good and showcases their vocal capabilities well. The songs are different but still fit well together on the album. I don't know if you have been watching their live performances, but I was definitely impressed.

I haven't kept up with live performances since miss A went bye. I'd also be lying if my bias against those 3 members weren't affecting my decision either, but that's just how it works.
Out of all the recent releases 4Minute was my favorite.(In Kpop)

new 4minute was one of the worst this year.. damn saxaphone still haunts my sleep

Don't forget the good debuts guys. BAP, BToB, Spica, Ailee, and some others I'm missing. I don't really like EXO, but a lot of people like them too.

Every big release from 2012 so far are good to me. Like real good. Sistars Alone is good stuff. Had Volume Up on repeat 24/7 for a whole 2 weeks so yeah, I enjoyed that ^^ Don't forget ~ Shinees back.... Shinees back....
In short, dunno what you are on about with hoping APink would finally bring something good to the Kpop-table ^^
So a Japanese pornstar to make a debut as a singer in Korea, wtf man. Not going to work o.o
edit* After watching that KARA vid... maaaannnn.... I feel that they've gone thru so much more than the other top girl groups. Not talking about trainee days but it took them 2 years after debut to get a win. Miss A only needed 1 month iirc.
Not sure what to think about this subject actually. Do you think it's better to debut and fail 2 years or postpone 2 years and train some more? From an Idol POV I'd say debuting(if they think they are ready) is a big step and a huge motivation. Training 2 more years may also backlash.

never ask about song quality in this thread. its never objective.

I'm not sure if i'm the only one but HSY is reallllly cutey. For me shes the best looking in KARA.
I'm surprised a lot of you talk about K-pop being actually redeeming. Few songs are great to listen to, and none will you marvel at every time you hear it. The best thing about kpop is that say you sleep on the bus, its loud enough to block out outside noise so you can sleep, while running through pictures of them in your head. Even though some beats are going down I ALWAYS manage to fall asleep on the bus this way.
