Also that shit gets harder post-debut because they expect you to have the same level of quality but you have much less time to practice.
[citation needed] also bulimia is not a mental disorder, it's an eating disorder. two completely different things.
likewise, choosing to be fat is not "better decision making," it's actually worse than being bulimic.

That's his problem, no one told him to lose weight by throwing up, he was desperate to become skinny, he could've just had exercised and diet like TOP did.
One doesn't simply decide to become bulimic.
One doesn't simply decide to have lung cancer too, yet they keep smoking. His choices, his consequences. I'm fat too, I didn't choose to starve myself or become bulimic, it's just better decision making. You can be a JYPE hater, it's your choice too. We all have our own preference.
Your lung cancer analogy is shit because you can get lung cancer without smoking.
You still seem to believe that having an eating disorder is a choice. It's not. It's a mental illness. Do research before telling people they're wrong. People don't choose to die because they're too underweight, they don't choose to be sub 100 pounds and 6 ft tall, and if you think they do you're delusional.
NO SHIT, it increases the chances of having lung cancer, yet they keep doing it. I do know being bulimic is a disorder, but no one becomes it out of nowhere. He chose to start it, so he developed it. Last I checked, JYPE didn't tell him to go lose weight by throwing up. No need to point fingers.
fyi, people that are bulimic often have a healthy weight because vomiting, laxatives and other unhealthy weight control methods doesn't magically make calories you just ate go away. If you're talking about people that are underweight, that would be anorexia...
Being afraid of gaining weight isn't really a choice...
Actually weight and body image are two of the most superficial things in our society. Just to cut to the chase, it is a choice. Why? If there was no society would anyone be afraid of gaining weight? No, in fact most people that you see as average weight are actually underweight by natural standards. Most (arguably all) mental "disorders" are completely circumstantial and don't happen naturally. There are always outside factors to cause them. Did you ever think he asked others in the business how to lose weight faster? What do you think they told him? People don't just think one day "yeah I'll throw up my food". It's completely superficial and he needs to find a way to deal with his irrational thoughts.
TL;DR People learn what society says the right weight is and how they should look. Eating disorders are coping mechanisms people use to try to be accepted(there are a multitude of reasons why, not just weight, but this is obviously the reason in his case) when they think they have no other choice or to feel like they have control of something.
Obviously being bulimic is a choice for some but it isn't for many. If you think it is than you're simply very narrow minded.
Without a society, eating disorders would not be as widespread because there isn't the image of thinness but there would still be individuals who are afraid of gaining weight. What you fear isn't something you magically pick out of a pool when you're in the womb. Hundred of millions suffer from anxiety, you think that this is their choice to get acceptance from society? lol.
Obviously environmental factors play a role in some mental disorders but to say all of them aren't natural is simply wrong when studies have shown there's a genetic predisposition for many. Schizo as the main example.

You really think that people are born scared to gain weight? How would someone genetically develop this instinct to be scared of their own body or what they need to survive? It's easy to see how someone could genetically develop a constructed fantasy, but that's not what we're talking about here. Citations are needed from geneticists.
Yes, some people inherit a genetic vulnerability to eating disorders, just like any disorder. You can go ask a geneticist if you think excess chemicals, structural abnormalities, etc is near impossible to be inherited.
No one mentioned anything about being scared of food, bulimics actually eat a decent amount of food.

This is the problem I have with your statements. He doesn't just "choose" to develop a mental disorder. Bulimia is a mental disorder caused by issues with your body weight, which according to Seo In Gook started when JYP told him he was too fat to achieve his dream. It's not like he thought "oh, gotta lose weight but too lazy to exercise, I'll just throw up instead!"
That's not how bulimia works, and arguing otherwise is pointless because you're arguing against facts and medical research.
Seriously half the people in here are raising arguments that they wouldn't bring up if they skimmed through the damn wikipedia page of the subject they were talking about to make sure they weren't just talking out their ass.

Eating disorders are classified as Axis I[65] disorders in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Health Disorders (DSM-IV) published by the American Psychiatric Association.
