Although to be fair a decent number of idols used to be ulzzangs as well (Qri, Hyomin come to mind)

And 30s don't touch Korean women. Kim Tae Hee is 30 as well but she's still one of the best looking Korean celebrities IMO

Hi KMD. This is my first time posting in this thread, and I haven't posted on TL very often. I'll admit I've lurked in this thread for a couple of months. I came to enjoy kpop because of GSL and streams such as Slayers_YuGiOh. I've also discovered new songs and groups through this thread so I truly appreciate everyone who contributes to this thread.

I'm very concerned about this T-ara business. I feel like they're the most diverse groups in terms of looks and appeal. Their songs are fun and enjoyable. I come from noise rock, so I don't really care too much about vocal quality. I realize that this is pop music and that vocal quality can be a large concern to some fans, but I've seen people regard T-ara as a dance group and that their vocal quality isn't the most important thing. I tend to side with this train of thought. It seems like you can have groups that dance and sing moderately well, like SNSD, T-ara, etc., or have groups that don't dance and sing well like Davichi. Trying to force singing ability out of them like CCM's CEO is doing just seems like the wrong approach. If he wanted a group that could dance and sing well then he should have put that together from the start. He knew what he was getting when he put the group together in the first place. I mean, wasn't Boram hired because of her dancing video? Trying to mend things to what he really wants 2.5 years later isn't right. He says he's been in the industry for 30 years, but isn't T-ara his only truly successful group? These girls have already established themselves. If he wants something different then he should simply start a new group, not try to make a new group under an established name. I see people hating on Boram and/or Qri. Sure they may not be the most active members, but on T-ara-centric shows they are always present. I'm a Boram fan and I feel like she is probably the emotional center of the group. It seems like everyone gets along very well with her, especially Soyeon and Jiyeon. Maybe this isn't the most marketable quality, but it's something that holds the group together and allows them to keep going through their strenuous day to day. I watched T-aradotcom and he takes a jab or two at Boram for being sick and other things. Why did he even bring her in in the first place? I've always felt like this guy was a jackass, so perhaps this isn't the most surprising thing in the world. It still makes me feel sick though. It seems like the CEO is seeing them as being insolent for basically begging multiple times for a break, for which they were promised after Lovey Dovey promotions and then they were sent to Japan for a month and are now finally getting with threats that they might be fired. I don't know for sure but it seems like SNSD and other groups get days off here and there. Perhaps I'm wrong in all of this. Obviously I don't own a record label, but I feel like some things are pretty easy to see and that the current CEO is overlooking them.

Of course if someone simply wants out then that's understandable. I believe that Boram has generally not so good health. Perhaps Eunjung and/or Jiyeon want to focus on acting. Though I just watched episode 10 of Pretty Boys and they all seemed to be having fun, so I don't presently believe this is the case. Something may be stated at a later time though saying otherwise.

I'm sorry to rant here and I'm probably repeating points already made, but it seems the most appropriate place since this is by far my most visited site.

Fuck Kim Tae Hee and Lee Min Jung are my favorite two asian women in the world. I don't know who I'd pick if I had to choose though

KKS makes stupid public remarks that make people hate him, and I don't agree with his whole idea of concepts, but he's well respected in the industry for a reason: he makes money. T-ara has been very successful (and although other musical artists aren't as well known they do alright, and CCM also has a bunch of actors signed as well but no one here cares about that), and I would argue has generated the most revenue vs their relative popularity- T-ara has a buttload of endorsements, perhaps more so than anyone else. Roly Poly and Lovey Dovey were both very successful, and no other group has as many actresses as T-ara, and a few of them are even decent for idols (Hyomin wins best new actress awards, EJ and PJY are known for being good despite being idols). While he doesn't make the best decisions regarding PR- the whole overworked thing being at the forefront, dumb member changes, etc., he does very well financially and that's all Mnet really cares about.

Half of those 'ulzzangs' were just freaky looking, god I hate those stupid oversized circle lenses. Kim Tae Hee and Yoo In Na are so much better looking it's ridiculous.

Isn't that Yaori (ex-BEG)? She sure as hell looks like her. Yaori - Excuse Me

These girls have appeal, not only appearance. It's what they call charms in Korea. Sure as hell they are pretty but that's not the only thing. And you get to know them via shows whereas you'd hardly ever see a model doing something other than modelling :p

Oh yes race queens <3 Hwang Mi Hee... it's not even funny anymore as to how pretty she is ^^
