I think the singer is cute, and they make good music. Listened to their album on the bus to and from college today, and it was sweet. Oh and they have 3 covers on their album. Abba and tracks from the sound of music and the little mermaid. Yes, the little mermaid.

Ailee is hyped because she has one of the better voices in kpop atm, even if it sounds similar to western style voices. Let's not argue, not only for the sake of the thread, but because you should refrain from embarrassing yourself like that too often. I wasn't trolling, you just didn't understand what I was saying. EDIT: lol? What was so hard to understand? You said it would be hilarious if a U.S. talent agency scouted non asians in asia. I just said it was obvious why foreign talent agencies wouldn't be in asia to scout talent. On March 02 2012 07:15 MooMooMugi wrote: 10x the population of korea, so new talent would be way easier to spot in U.S This statement makes zero sense. So if you live in a bigger country with may more people its EASIER to get scouted? lol... EDIT 2: My point was saying that the talent pool in U.S. is larger, therefore, talent would be easier to find in U.S. Not that hard to comprehend yes? Why would a non asian talent agency scout for talent in a non english speaking country? There's tons of English speaking talent that are unscouted. EDIT 3: Since people seem to be confused, my point was that the U.S. is easier to scout ENGLISH speaking talent because he said it would be hilarious if non asian talent agencies went to asia to scout non asian talent.

So that doesn't include endorsements or whatnot. Of course, that figure was put out by the 3 girls who wanted to break off their contracts, and so it may not be entirely accurate, but it's a good baseline anyway. Top girl groups make bank (KARA maybe more so than anyone else, since Japan is worth a lot more than Korea and they're easily the most successful there). That 200k in 1 year ( i think its 300k iirc) is a proofless claim made by DSP to counteract what the 3 girls claimed (no proof) that they did not get as much as they were supposed to (3k a month). The complete absence of transparency suggest that no one (including top groups) actually earns alot.

SNSD makes way more than KARA, I heard something like 1.5m/year for Yoona and 1.2m/year for Seohyun which includes CF and endorsements

I cannot judge for lesser idol groups sistar, secret, rainbow or whatever but to say that topgroups, say BigBang, 2ne1, SNSD, TVXQ/JYJ don't earn a lot is pretty ignorant when I read articles like: "JYJ buys ceo luxury car" or "top acquires 3million dollar building" etc on a frequent basis. Or Dara from 2ne1 drives a Range Rover 15 months after their debut (during 2ne1 tv season 2) and has enough money to buy her brother a brand new mini ( jiyoungs car) Whenever idols say that they get 50$ allowance per week on variety shows I don't know if that's true... edit: lol while I was typing two people posted two articles which I also included in my post... :D

It's kind of similar to esports (not saying idols earn as much as pros) where the pros hide their salary because they don't earn alot and revealing it would cause abit of trouble.

Saving up three million dollars sounds ridiculous if their salaries are as low as people suggest. Even saving up $400k (for a luxury/exotic car) on a $100k salary is stupid retarded, and a lot of people say top idols make less than that.

All im saying is it's really hard to quantify their salary based on what's out there and whatever the amount it maybe, it is not really something you would be happy about.
