Koreans are actually a lot more homophobic than most westerners. It's just that in Korea, and much of East Asia, being gay and being fashionable aren't really linked together. Making out with a guy is more indicative of being gay than wearing a v-neck with a scarf.

As someone has been mentioned before, the concept of "metrosexuality" is kind of absent, as most adolescent and young adult males seem to keep up with fashion trends.
