To ensure this thread won't be closed, you must adhere to several a number of simple rules;
Please use spoilers when quoting a post with pictures and/or videos.
When posting large quantities of media (pictures or videos), please begin spoilering after the first piece. Grouping related videos in the same spoilers & labeling is recommended.
No reposting of old material unless justified
Posting any material with little or no relevent discussion accompanying it
No passion-induced flaming of each other because 'x said y sucked' etc.
Keep the expression hate of music individuals/groups to a minimal level
No 'pagetopping' in any form whatsoever, as it constitutes spam equal to posts similar to 'first'.
No vulgar fan fics or wet dream stories. It is creepy, weird, and it dehumanizes the people who you are here to celebrate/discuss.
Normal posting standards that you find throughout the rest of the site still apply and will be enforced more strictly from here forward (2012/03/11)
Due to the poor nature of this thread in the past, temporary two-day bans will occur more than often if people slip up.
Fanmade vid that takes all the girls and their solo dances to the song from the vita500 app
edit: I always thought the dance was cute. I wish they would perform live once. + Show Spoiler +
LOL who is that second from the right? everyone is edited into a nice V formation then syncro part hits and who ever that is decides fuck this time to mess it up.
It's a fanmade MV made from these videos so can't really expect all that much. + Show Spoiler +
Why do all the male Korean pop stars look like girls? or attempt to look (what seems like) as girly as possible? Not trying to start a flame war, just curious.

I think the better question here is, why are some female kpop stars trying the opposite, trying to look like boys?

I could write a whole essay on that but that link will tell you most of the story.
i lost it when he start singing im naughty naughty =)))
but yeah this is true for entire east asia culture(including a part of south east). It has a lot to do with ancient literatures describing the 'beauty of goodness' in Buddhism i think. Long black hair, bright skin(not white like a ghost, must hv some pink in there), V shape face... try to go into a buddhism temple i bet you ever find a female statue that is not a non-skinny figure.
Pretty sure there were a comparison that netizen did not too long ago where they put pictures of celebrity on top of each other with 10% transparency to find out what is the 'perfect face'. Look it up.

Oh ok, not a hardcore sone here so didn't get that but I could see how that would be funny for people who understood it.
Edit: ^ maybe just a misconption on my part, but I always thought that Korea was pretty anti-homosexuality and looked down upon it?

Ah ok, thanks for that. I figured it was to do with korean males being less homophobic, and more accepting of 'metrosexuality'.
Well, no. Firstly, the word "metrosexual" doesn't even apply in Korea, for the exact reason that the ideal type is the one referred to by NB and the vid and I posted. Taking care of one's skin, hair etc. is considered totally normal, for both genders.
And homosexuality is a such a hushed up/ignored/looked down upon "condition" that it isn't really a topic. Korea is evolving to be more tolerant in this matter but homosexuality still isn't considered to be something normal and thus not as something that is shown in public or discussed - at least not on the same level as in Europe. As a bizarre consequence, men hugging and touching and sometimes holding hands for a moment is totally considered ok, as nobody would relate it to homosexuality (reason being that it is a non-issue) but rather to an act of deep sympathy or comforting.
This is Lay.t, to date they've probably only ever performed twice and only for On-Media, ie OGN related events. Their first performance was during the ROK Game Awards on 111109 and that Proleague opener. Title of the song is 나 잡아봐라, Try and Catch Me. Good luck finding anymore info. - + Show Spoiler [Dat Lay.T] +

I've also noticed that koreans have a very narrow ideal of what the perfect girl/guy should look like. Those to don't conform to that type seem to use all kinds of stuff to get there. People not even in their 30's using botox regularly, nosejobs and painful treatments to get rid of body hair. Seems like a huge hassle.
