To ensure this thread won't be closed, you must adhere to several a number of simple rules;
  • Please use spoilers when quoting a post with pictures and/or videos.
  • When posting large quantities of media (pictures or videos), please begin spoilering after the first piece. Grouping related videos in the same spoilers & labeling is recommended.
  • No reposting of old material unless justified
  • Posting any material with little or no relevent discussion accompanying it
  • No passion-induced flaming of each other because 'x said y sucked' etc.
  • Keep the expression hate of music individuals/groups to a minimal level
  • No 'pagetopping' in any form whatsoever, as it constitutes spam equal to posts similar to 'first'.
  • No vulgar fan fics or wet dream stories. It is creepy, weird, and it dehumanizes the people who you are here to celebrate/discuss.
  • Normal posting standards that you find throughout the rest of the site still apply and will be enforced more strictly from here forward (2012/03/11)

Due to the poor nature of this thread in the past, temporary two-day bans will occur more than often if people slip up.

^Yeah, like I said we only talk about boy groups when they do things cause otherwise it's just reposting, and we're not going to talk about how they look.

@Unichan's infinite vid- if that's all them singing live that is pretty impressive.

@uni yeah I mean to the people in this thread, and guys in general.

SS501 hasn't done anything as a group for fifty million years.

I liked most of their members' solo promotions so far though . . . Kim Hyun Joong's songs were probably the weakest.

I thought they disbanded? Each of their members are doing solo songs.

Infinite is probably the strongest vocally of any of the million member groups, but they'd be better off cutting half their members.

haha i think 7 members is still relatively "normal" for kpop standards, although I think more than 4-5 members is silly( yes huge BigBang and DBSK fanboy here)

SuJu is still the most ridiculous among ridiculous. Dont know what Lee So man thought when he created them but it seems to work for the fangirls, but I can't imagine that it's fun to be part of a 13(?) member group when I see the vocally inferior people in 4 member bands already get almost not parts in the songs.

BTW: Thx to MAMA I got into B2ST's Fiction and I have to admit it's pretty good, I thought they are just another meh band. Can anyone recommend other songs from them? (Though their live performance was bad @ the awards, the highlight of their stage was Hyuna's legs lol)

^I think that's for the RWJ thread?

@Asnsensation Suju is just whoever wasn't good enough for DBSK, but had particular talents in dancing, MCing, etc. It's a big risk but if it works it pays off good cause you can have 13 different members all do solo activities together.

The SuJu guys are the ones that wasn't good enough for DBSK.

After BoA’s successful venture into Japan, the SM Entertainment CEO wanted to create a group that could be successful not only in Asia, but all over the world. Since he had a limited number of trainees, much deliberation and focus was needed to decide how to make this group happen. Lee Soo Man decided to choose the best members out of several trainee teams to create a new group that could be considered “major league”. This group was none other than TVXQ.

As for Super Junior, Lee Soo Man revealed, “All the other groups were on the verge of being dissolved. However, since they signed contracts with us, we had to take responsibility. So out of these groups, the group that we raised to do well both in music and variety shows was Super Junior. They put in their sweat and tears to survive [in the industry], and we felt bad [watching them] so we tried to help them.”

B2ST/BEAST definitely the best boy group, or at least tied for #1 with Big Bang imo. Fiction real good but I like Special the most.

AA best boy band debut 2011 . . . =D =D

Catchy song and they even produced and choreographed it!!! (supposedly. I don't trust everything I read)

Block B's too ghetto for me. Kpop idols and ghetto don't mix well for me. What's the point of identifying with the urban struggle for expression if you're not even from the hood?

Cause being ghetto makes you that $$$

I actually kinda like Block B as well, Zico's feature in Hyuna's song was decent.

You mean Hyuna's feature in Zico's song but they messed up the order? Same thing with A Bitter Day that G.Na is featured on but sang more than Hyuna.

Regarding boy groups, Beast and Infinite are probably the only 2 I listen to together with Big Bang.

edit: surprised by the lack of love for Beast here regarding boy groups. they are far superior Ukiss and other groups.

Personally I would of rather have Dok2 perform with her than Zico because I liked the original version better. And I'm not a huge fan of Beast, but Inpinite supa gud.

Edit: Unichan, that's like the only U-Kiss song I like.

The main problem is most people have never even heard of Dok2 and he doesn't have the idol appeal like Zico, but yes, definitely a better rapper. The fact that his production got more exposure with that song is good enough for me. Gonzo needs more attention.

The whole Fact & Fiction album is a must listen. The production is far ahead of any other kpop group out there.

DBSK is one of the most ambitious and costly creation of a kpop group ever. It's highly unlikely that something similar ever will happen again. Too have that many trainees without debuting them is just too costly and nowadays the competition over talent is way tougher and people are debuting younger than ever.
