To ensure this thread won't be closed, you must adhere to several a number of simple rules;
Please use spoilers when quoting a post with pictures and/or videos.
When posting large quantities of media (pictures or videos), please begin spoilering after the first piece. Grouping related videos in the same spoilers & labeling is recommended.
No reposting of old material unless justified
Posting any material with little or no relevent discussion accompanying it
No passion-induced flaming of each other because 'x said y sucked' etc.
Keep the expression hate of music individuals/groups to a minimal level
No 'pagetopping' in any form whatsoever, as it constitutes spam equal to posts similar to 'first'.
No vulgar fan fics or wet dream stories. It is creepy, weird, and it dehumanizes the people who you are here to celebrate/discuss.
Normal posting standards that you find throughout the rest of the site still apply and will be enforced more strictly from here forward (2012/03/11)
Due to the poor nature of this thread in the past, temporary two-day bans will occur more than often if people slip up.
For their ‘Good Bye, Roly-Poly’ stages, the members will dress up in winter and summer school uniforms, exercise drill uniforms, girl scout uniforms and vintage clothes — all outfits that drew a wild response from their fans.
NNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! I will miss it
^yeah, Roly poly has been promoted for pretty much 2 entire months, I remember it came out the week before july 4th weekend cause I was away and had to use my shitty phone to watch the MV lol, making it almost 2 full months.

And the live performances you see are not actually live. They have to do a whole day of filming to get all the angels the tv show wants. Man, imagine performing the same song for a whole day straight. And that's only for one performance. They do serveral every week.
Plus most kpop group get money mainly from Japan. If you're not a part of the big three agencies, you barely make money in Korea. I remember reading a kpop artist makes 10 times what they make a year in Korea if they spend a month in Japan. Not surprising since selling 50,000 albums is consider pretty good in Korea.
Well, half the groups haven't gone to Japan yet so that's not entirely true. Everything else you stated is pretty much common knowledge, yeah. The no days off seems alittle more harsh than most, you get birthdays/Chuseok off AFAIK as long as there's no schedules then, and since most Chuseok specials are prerecorded there shouldn't be a schedule there really.
Music programs take a full day, but AFAIK that's just cause their scheduling is weird and you're on call for alot of the time, otherwise I believe it's 4 or so takes.
Haven't been able to log into the forum until now, so I have a lot to catch up on and respond to.
Just before I had to sign off, I had just responded to a few posts questioning the moderating policy of this thread and what should/should not be the policy. I first want to make it clear that I actually have no problem with how the thread was going prior to it being locked. As others have said, this is a light-hearted, and often silly, topic where a lot of silly/stupid/pointless/etc. posts are made in good fun and mutual enjoyment of Kpop. I don't think it really hurts anyone or the site when people make their little fanboy posts, as long as it doesn't get as ridiculously immature and flame-filled as what you see on sites like Allkpop or fanclub forums.
However, there was a point where this thread was getting out of control with the low quality of the posts. That was what triggered a significant responses from the staff, the editing of the OP and the addition of those rules on the first page. The staff discussed the matter and concluded that the quality of posting needed to go up in this thread as it was against general site policy to allow such low-quality posting.
Since then, the thread has been doing quite well for the most part in my opinion. The regulars do a pretty good job of letting the newcomers what is and is not acceptable in their own way, and there have been little to no problems. However, this recent "dat yejin" spammage drew the attention of at least one mod, which resulted in it becoming locked. I agree that that particularly string was pushing the boundaries of what kind of quality of posting we look for in TL, even in silly threads, although I would probably have reacted a little differently. However, the locking did its job in drawing attention to what the staff has previously identified as what it doesn't want to see this thread degenerating into, and in renewing a healthy discussion of what should or should not be tolerated. In that, I think it was a productive move.
As for my posts immediately after, my intention was to remind everyone of the standards that the staff had previously laid out for this thread and that we don't have complete carte blanche as to what we post in this thread. While the leash is quite long, it's not infinitely so. I will freely admit that the moderating is very lax and has been inconsistent. However, I believe this is a result of the staff struggling between not wanting to repress the harmless good fun that is in this thread, while also not wanting it to degenerate too far. Personally, my preference is to make an example of a person once in a while when things are starting to head a bad direction, as opposed to carefully policing every little possibly questionable post. The latter is too exhausting and, frankly, I don't think it's necessary.
In the end, what should be taken from this most recent locking of the thread is that the staff still has standards that it wants maintained in this thread. I agree with Chill and various others that this thread is a special case because of the subject matter and the manner in which it is shared and discussed, but it's really not that hard for us to put some effort into our posts when we can. Already, the posts since the locking have been a little better, and I don't think the enjoyment of the subject matter has suffered as a result.
Keep in mind that, while this is a Kpop thread, it's also a Kpop thread on TL, a site that I think we all associate with quality and being better than the rest. There's nothing that requires people to post like mindless 5 yr olds to share and enjoy Kpop content with each other.

The fact that there still is a functional general kpop thread that hasn't been torn asunder with fan bullshit is better than the rest already lol.
Some After School, Kahi so cute speaking Japanese lol.

I'm interested where you heard this, because it would be quite a shame as the song has huge potential, in my opinion ateast.

SM blocked Hikkup on youtube though, so I imagine they have a plan for it. Maybe for another group later this year?
And Sistar looks super cute in that preview. Idk if I can take more Hello Baby though.

Yeah that's what is weird about it. They could be just saying it's not on the album or whatever to throw people off. Just have to wait and see next month. It's a good base for a song. I've listened to some of the other guides to songs like Echo and Let it Rain and SM producers make them sooooooo much better.

Well its registered under Girls Generation at the Korea Music Copyright Association.
To your edit: Yeah, they could do anything really, and they haven't said anything about Time Machine which is also registered, so I don't know.
And we have new group called BB. Boys, this features G.NA, seemed alright to me.

Uh wait, how do you know how much they earn in korea and in japan? I've been following kpop for a while and when it comes to money, they tend to avoid number figures.

Apparently bucketloads more than than enough to toss aside Korean pride and dignity by vocally bastardising the eloquent lyrics that makes kpop.
On the bright side i'm glad After School(jungahhhhhh<3<3) are hopefully making money.
Edit: This choon was surprisingly awesome, sorry if it's been posted before. Haven't visited this thread for awhile.
