Please use spoilers when quoting a post with pictures and/or videos.
When posting large quantities of media (pictures or videos), please begin spoilering after the first piece. Grouping related videos in the same spoilers & labeling is recommended.
No reposting of old material unless justified
Posting any material with little or no relevent discussion accompanying it
No passion-induced flaming of each other because 'x said y sucked' etc.
Keep the expression hate of music individuals/groups to a minimal level
No 'pagetopping' in any form whatsoever, as it constitutes spam equal to posts similar to 'first'.
No vulgar fan fics or wet dream stories. It is creepy, weird, and it dehumanizes the people who you are here to celebrate/discuss.
Normal posting standards that you find throughout the rest of the site still apply and will be enforced more strictly from here forward (2012/03/11)
Due to the poor nature of this thread in the past, temporary two-day bans will occur more than often if people slip up.

Nice joke.
Well if you consider only group singers, it's pretty much true. Most group members aren't picked for singing ability.
Most group members are trained from when they were little kids. The corporations put them through years of training in the hopes they will amount to something. Which is why very few of these groups get paid much despite the amount of success they might bring.

What? They get bank from being famous.
No they don't. They sign slave contracts with these companies before they even get famous. These companies put in hundreds of thousands of dollars training potential success stories and they don't pay that well. I'm sure some do ok but a lot of them make very little.

Anyone that big would make good money, and most of Rain's is from owning an entertainment company. If you go to solo artists of similar fame as idol groups, like Joo, IU, etc., they don't get paid that much better than idol groups. The only benefit is if you make it big, like IU, then you don't have to split the money with anyone, but getting popular enough is much harder.

yeah, and Hyori only start making money once she left FINKL and went solo
Her backup singers are better than her, she's so lucky she has other "assets"
Subtitles are misspelled haha "minuite" ya she didn't sing very well. I saw her singing in music core and it was pretty good; she's not a bad singer.
Her pronunciation is kinda weird for a Canadian though, is she come to Canada and then go back to Korea?
No she was born in Canada, apparently she still has some trouble with Korean.
To the person above, the only one comes to mind is Piggy Dolls, and that's just cause their concept is being fat. Most other singers are either naturally pretty (rare) or get plastic surgery if they're not (and although most singers are born hot, they still get work done anyway, to look even better) so it's really rare, at least for idols, to get one that's not good looking (or at least obviously messed up from plastic surgery)
