It's like the Lord of the Rings of Japanese mecha, as it has a gigantic world fleshed out to great detail. Only problem is that it's unfinished, will probably remain unfinished forever, and is long overdue (ie. probably won't ever be) for animation :x | ||

First arc complete! Reinhard with his shining hair and super saiyan mode was lol. The tanks and land battle were pretty neat. The tank itself was kinda wtf (the provisions include raw food? lolwut) but overall, it was a nice change of pace from space and ship to ship combat. The story itself was fairly solid with the exception of the ending. I mean, the guy runs off a fucking cliff. -_- I'd forgotten how awesome the music in this series could be. | ||

Looks like now you have chapters 2 and 3 ahead of you, unless you decide to skip them like Ferrose did. They aren't bad, but they are really different, and don't live up to the rest of the series IMO. | ||
