This is the first time I heard this. Is this true? + Show Spoiler [G-sen, Haru route] + Okay surprise... Yet to go beyond H-scene since my roommates have returned =.= That brother resolution felt somewhat cheesy but I can't see much improvement given the situation. Hm... Chaos;Head next? Or Eien Aselia? Lol Chaos is described as 'Delusional Science NVL'. What is a NVL anyway? | ||

Also lol that OreTsuba trailer, is it some 1min-ish trailer w/ no talking? They have taken an interesting approach to the issue of the VN, I wonder how that will work out. Am playing LoL atm so I'll elaborate in an edit later or something. Hmm catching some odd details with the trailer that I'll poke Southlight with later. | ||

Anyways, it was one of the best and most memorable VN that year, but therein lay the problem; it's the little conversations that were masterfully done (as is often the case with Navel) but that sort of character-building dialog rarely translates well to anime. Hence why, like S;G, we're looking forward to it, but with a lot of caution and pessimism. Edit: I guess, in a way, the major problem for both is going to be that it's the male character(s) that really draws the reader in, and so they're going to have to do some Clannad-esque miracles to make it work. It isn't exactly a harem, though the main characters are popular with the ladies. But yeah, Southlight's description makes the most sense. It is kind of like a slice of life in the individual romantic episodes of the main characters all converging onto the conclusion, and with some hilarious conversations to make it all go well. It isn't too strong thematically, but the narration is done extremely well and the pacing and characters are excellent. The biggest problem indeed is the fact that it is heavily conversational. The last thing that worked kind of like that and turned out well was Bakemonogatari, and that took a lot of moe elements and funky style to get it done. OreTsuba's atmosphere in general doesn't allow such an easy out, however, so I am on the pessimistic side about it even though I really want to see it animated. In terms of narration and style, I guess something close from recent times would be DRRR and how we have multiple characters being the focus and a lot of things happening simultaneously. With OreTsuba, the chronology won't be exactly messy and you won't really see overlaps of the main characters because of their very distinct lifestyle, but you'll see interactions between the side characters linking these main characters together. Honestly thinking about it more carefully, I am kind of amazed how this even worked in VN form... So as to the original question, yeah, there are no consistent patterns here, you are essentially being shown random characters from multiple stories just by looking at that preview. But like DRRR, eventually these people all tie up into one giant awesome story. | ||
