So... In SRW, I was doing one of those "get all units to this point, nothing must die" missions, and one turn before I could get everyone in, the Schutzwald gets focused by practically every enemy in the area. And since it has no mobility to speak of and crap armor, it died. I ragequit instantly. Guess I'll pack her onto the Hiryuu next time. Sigh.

Schutzwald is reall crappy. unless Rahda is piloting it >.< even then it sucked.. I put her in an Ashsaber, Those mechs are like your dead weights after all your good mechs

Rahda sucks though. Other than her godly support abilities though, which are sometimes reason enough to bring her.
I'm wondering which mission are you on, Spazer? Because I remember there was one mission on Kyusokes route that was like that, except you had to kill like 5 battle ships before you could actually get to the point, and it was annoying.
I think I'm at around mission 17? And I think it's the one you're thinking of since the exit square is surrounded by five battleships. Killing them isn't required though - it's a battle mastery. I spent a turn blowing one up so that I could use lucky and get some money and then they focused the Schutzwald the next turn. And yeah, I've noticed how badly Rahda can suck lol. It's like she can't hit anything without using focus first.
Nope, this game isn't Fire Emblem, fortunately. Ugh, losing units in Fire Emblem was so rage inducing. -_- Mechs seem pretty cheap to replace as well. A Gespenst costs about 3500 I think. I haven't lost anything more expensive and lived to see the mission end yet.
Also you should get used to needing to cast spells to be worth any salt. In OG2 you have to spam the shit out of spells, hence why SP Regen is like the #1 necessity. There's even a "let Lefina get every kill" mission to prep you to earn a battle point in a later mission, so that she can cast the 100% accuracy spell.
Honestly, I didn't mind losing some of the useless people in Fire Emblem. But it sucks when you lost one of your best guys and had to restart the mission so you could keep him >.>
I hope that SRW doesn't have any extremely broken units like Fire Emblem did (Ike).
SRWOG has some broken-ass units but they're usually required that way. Otherwise you stand no chance. Like Zengar is broken as shit, but you don't really notice cuz things get tough anyways.
Even though I think I'm like 1 of 2 or 3 people who still watch it on TL, I found this episode was quite a filler to be honest... @ the beginning it was the same thing again, since those 2 chicks keep regenerating... Phase 3.5 I mean wtf... that in itself shouldn't even exist. The only things this episode established is Wako choosing Takuto over Sugata as well as possible powers from Wako(?). Unless the 3.5 and Wako's power was a 1 time only thing, then I can refer back to the fact I found that this ep was just a filler and leads to the next ep and who plays the kissing role...

its an excellent rom/com, its really cute with nothing shocking or unexpected, I don't see why you categorize it as "bad"
