I read the VN last year, and I think it still holds up fairly well today (minus the annoying gameplay), not just for historical value.

All we're getting is more flashbacks and backstories of side characters I'm not interested in. The plot hasn't really moved an inch since episode 2. Edit: Just checked and this season will be only 13 episodes. Almost halfway there and it still feels like all that has happened so far could be wrapped up within 1-2 episodes... I really don't get people gushing over this show so much and most of the comments over on CR being "10/10 bestest series ever, best episode so far." its a fairly short manga, tbh when shit starts to go down its basically going down all the time til the manga ends

We're basically at a halfway point of the series and it looks like we've just started since all this stuff could easily be just 2 episodes. Oh well, at least we got the Insomniacs After School which is absolutely blowing my mind right now. Some of the shots in this anime are absolutely breathtaking. ![]() Production quality in this is astounding.

Super excited that the new Viz App added the manga too. Once it (and Call of the Night) get fully added its going to be a read for sure

How's the show aside from the visuals (characters, story)? no spoilers please =)

Like, characters aren't super deep and the story isn't anything groundbreaking but it does what it has to and gives you this really good vibe and a sense of wholesomeness. I think it really isn't a show about the characters or the story but rather the overall ambiance and feeling. I think it's somewhere along the lines of Your Lie In April and Hakubo.

Hm, I didn't like Your Lie in April apart from the music performances. I watched the first episode of Insomiacs now and it was alright. What I don't like so far is the direction. It's too "staged", the ideas are right into your face. Anything more and the director could just put his idea paper with bullet points on the screen. And those ideas follow a lot of the typical tropes. I looked him up and apparently it's the first show he is directing, so it makes sense. Apart from that it wasn't too bad though. Will continue and see how it'll evolve.

How's the show aside from the visuals (characters, story)? no spoilers please =) There is a goal of sorts but no real story. It's very much slice of life. It's hit or miss. Some parts feel pointless and seemingly exist in a vacuum - it has no meaningful impact on anything else, any other characters, or what exists of the story/plot. It's rather bizarre when this happens. Other parts have nice payoff but it feels kinda unearned. I think my main complaint with this show is the mc - he's antisocial to the point that it's actively annoying. Overall I'd say the show's fine, but nobody will be talking about it by the end of the year.

Typical story of a young girl who goes on a fantastical adventure to resolve past trauma and find the love of her life. Was a good flick but definitely not on the level of Your Name. Spoilers for the most recent manga chapter because its free on the Viz App so I read it and it just so happened to + Show Spoiler + Isaki just had a surgery for something and the main cast was really scared but her mom texts "The Surgery was a success. Isaki is fine".

I watched ep2 now, which was better than ep1 but still had some of the same flaws I mentioned earlier and what you said happened as well. If it stays like this it will be an ok show with some cute moments.

I also watched the first episode of Tatami Time Machine Blues and I have missed this. The opening episode was fantastically captivating. From this season I'm only watching Insomnia. I'm planning to finish it but overall I think it's pretty mediocre. On June 19 2023 10:06 Manit0u wrote: WTF is going on with Heavenly Delusion? Watch a guy stuck in his sister's body get raped by the person they both looked up to as children, shortly after reuniting. Monday: Golden Kamuy + Show Spoiler + Watch a guy solve a mystery by masturbating, then get in a projectile nutting battle with the culprit. Not how I expected to start my week.

They actually stopped the teasing and had a kiss. I'm quite surprised. I thought this would be the typical immature anime teasing with no conclusion except the realisation that holding hands is too lewd. Let's see where they go from here but if Ganta follows up on his word, which at this point I believe he will, this development bumps the series up in my book I also finished Tatami Time Machine Blues in a couple days. It was fantastic and very refreshing. It has been a really long time since I have watched an anime that fully captivated me and was genuinely hilarious. I enjoyed the witty writing, eccentric direction and that it never felt disjointed in any way at any point.
