My Hero Academia S5: i was really hyped about this season but it ended being the weakest so far. still it was kind of cool to watch all the other characters and the story behind de villains and their development. note apart for Deku... im not liking how + Show Spoiler +his power up is being handled
Beastars: what a surprise! i would have never thought i would watch this anime after reading the synopsis but somehow i ended watching it. it was really cool with some scenarios i didnt even consider. besides the cgi or however its called that style, the story is pretty nice and i enjoyed very much.
next in the line: Slime S2 part 2

Some very interesting anime this season. Takt Op. Destiny and Sakugan. Would be interesting to see how they would develop.

Hmhm, I'm always impressed by how badly these synopses are written... Are you judging by the first episodes?
There is a new Blade Runner series coming out this season as well as Heike Monogatari. I might give those a shot. However, I haven't watched seasonal anime in a long time so I might as well wait for the reviews...

Just finished Jujutsu Kaisen and loved it. Thanks a lot for the recommendation. A nice plot and some great characters. Particularly enjoyed the Itadori-Sakuna idea. The coming season(s) should be great.
Also tried some other Ifotable productions since I enjoyed Demon Slayer a lot. Tried Tales of Zestiria the X and Fate/Zero but didn't really like them. Think maybe making a series from a computer game is challenging if the viewer doesn't know the game.

I actually enjoyed the class A vs B training arc, but the 2nd cour has been underwhelming. Still really like the show overall though.
On another note, I noticed the Demon Slayer movie was on CR so I finally got around to watching it. Ufotable are god tier at what they do. Beautiful animation. I’m hyped for S2, but I’m gonna let it accumulate a few more episodes before I start watching though.

I wrote some webnovel for some MAL contest and made the semifinals. I think now finalists are decided by popular vote or whatever, so I'm just happy to have made it this far. But if anyone wants to vote or whatever and help make me more of a meme, that'd be great. :3
You need the phone app though, which kinda blows.

Maybe your popularity also helped you make it to the semifinals. I'm pretty sure that Porter Robinson has heard of your review

It was selected by judges!

Voted and glad to hear you're still writing

How else would someone judge an anime that has one episode out?

Hm, I think I wasn't sure whether you watched the first episode(s) already or were judging by teaser material. I suppose "judging" was the wrong word also.

Third season of Mahouka announced! The special is also out and it's a pretty fun watch detailing the relationship progression between Tatsuya and Miyuki. Would definitely recommend it for any fans!

Tokyo Revengers: was pretty good, not as good as i expected for the comments on social media though. interesting story and villain. i want to know more about his motives so the wait for the next season has begun.
Slime season 2 part 2: kind of slow, it had some interesting parts but overall this part of the season wasnt great. the next one could be better, lets see.
Jojo Stone Ocean: the weakest JoJo so far, the animation is good but sometimes looks below its standar. i dont know what it is but im feeling something is lacking in the series but i cant tell what it is. these first 12 chapters are below decent overall.

Anyone got a recommendation for a series that's more slice of life and a bit apart from the extreme mainstream? Would prefer if it wasn't based on a shonen jump manga with 100s of chapters (I read the ones I find interesting anyways).
Don't mind if it's a bit shonen, but big explosions or 100 hit combos and power fantasy don't really do anything for me anymore. That also ended up being a problem for me with JoJo because I felt that it's lacking in finesse.
I really liked Cowboy Bebop and Stein's gate, but f.e. also Code Geass, Gundam Seed S.1, Charlotte (although more the later eps), Angel Beats, Deathnote's first half. So I just like if there's a bit of tragedy mixed in. Don't mind SciFi or fantasy, but don't like it if it's very cliché.
Also saw FMA:Brotherhood and thought it was decent and NGE and didn't like it because of it's lack of likeable characters.

Rurouni Kenshin (Both series and OAV) Rumbling Hearts Clannad Chrono Crusade Gurren Lagann
They are all very good (clannad, Rumbling are the slice of lifes)

So I started my first anime of this year after christmas. I picked Sonny Boy and...after 9 episodes I still haven't made up my mind if it is actually good or not... I feel like when it gets strange it becomes better but then it suddenly throws tropes at you again. The second half has definitely more of the former than the latter though, so I still have hopes for the last 3 episodes.

I can't really see a clear line in the shows you mentioned, sorry. I guess I just recommend some of the less generic SoLs I have watched:
- Uchouten Kazoku - Hourou Musuko - Barakamon (no tragedy here) - Dennou Coil
More of an adventure: - Spice & Wolf - Kino no Tabi (the original one)
More recently: - Eizouken
