I think there are children in the movie, but only the son is of any importance. Its a movie after-all, so they couldn't really fit everything in there, so its understandable that some sections are cut short. But there is a twist/reveal at the end of the movie that pretty much ruins everything. If you really want to know spoilers: + Show Spoiler + Apparently it turns out that its not a Dragon Quest 5 Movie at all, and its actually a DQ fan playing a VR DQ5-like game, and Nimzo is actually a virus that is trying to destroy the game. And then the anti-virus is Roto's sword or something. Turns out the meaning behind the "Your Story" in the title refers to story as a gamer playing through this game. Its stunning how such an idea got OK'd for this movie. Making it a VR Game instead of a story pretty much invalidates the entirety of the story and drama though the game, making it go from 'damn MC has it rough' to 'just a video game'. Its like when they were drafting the plot, they were like "Hey guys, how should we ruin DQ5?" "Oh, I just watched Sword Art Online, so I have a GREAT idea!" | ||

Babylonia next season is pretty late into the game so it might be a bit confusing if you don't know about the game but I'm sure someone will explain the basics in here once ep1 is out or about to be out. Episode 00 didn't really explain that much but it did show a bit. Specifically, it introduces Mashu from how she came to be, how she became a pseudo-servant and what it was like before going out on missions but it stops there, while giving us some nice scenes of each singularity up to Babylonia. Which is nice, to see all these characters animated if even just for a second but it probably doesn't do anything for people who don't know them and get tossed into Babylonia (the 7th singularity) right away. But it's better than nothing. Except for seeing Edison. That was painful as always. | ||

I dropped ToG after he met his friend for the first time, but would watch an adaption. There was actually a noblesse movie, but I don't think it went far. Hopefully a good studio is animating it because it's fantastic. Why do you think it'll bomb? | ||
