honestly this felt like the random harem that everyone will forget even within the season itself to me but quintuples apparently was super popular in JP and it's apparently getting a 2nd season. Not complaining, I watched it and miku was great. Probably the biggest voice-trap from last season so perhaps not as surprising that people watched it?

Also, i almost finished Mob Psycho (2nd season) funny and with superb animation, loving it! I also rewatched Suzumiya Haruhi and it is still one of my favorites, specially S1. Attack on titan s3 part 1 and the last season of Jojo are pretty cool too. Finally im starting with the promised neverland and it looks really sick! (ep1)

the whole filolial bit were honestly a bit lame to me and wasteful plus the CGI during that large t-rex fight was just bad. I don't know how people think that was good at all. The FPS was low, was choppy and quality was lacking imo. Still, we finally got to where we should've been a while ago and Naofumi finally managed to get Motosayu on the same wavelength, even if it took him almost getting killed to do it lol. I refuse to believe that Ren and Itsuki are dead though. I feel like they probably went to check on them and found nothing left so they figured that they did, but they are still alive somewhere. After all, Ren (or was it Itsuki?) did know or could tell something was coming and they made a run for it. The question is, how far did they get and just how much defensive power, if any, did they have to shield them from that? Also, maybe Malty can finally just calm down and be reasonable for a change. We never did hear her reason for hating the shield hero. OPM seems to be getting more interesting. Not sure how close they are following the source, but the animation hasn't been too bad lately. Maybe they can still pull it off? On May 04 2019 03:12 oEkY wrote: ouch, i guess i might be in bigfan's so called uncool group then, cause i'm watching / enjoying Gunjou no magmell, kenja no mago, kyojin, one punch man and kimetsu no yaiba from this season and i'm still watching shield bro, dororo and karakuri cirus since former seasons (and additionally black clover, fairy tail and one piece, shame on me for being a 33 years old-shounen-kid) :O haha. Well, that day was opposite day so what Toad was saying was that it's a cool group but he had to say uncool to make sure he got the right message across! Nothing wrong with being a shounen-kid. I personally am enjoying Black Clover though this weeks' episode was just bad imo. I don't need a filler episode, I just want to see how things end already! I think one of the best episodes was + Show Spoiler + Finn fighting against his brother. The way things played out, and then everyone jumping to his aid when the brother was about to kill him. Just fantastic! The anime is just really great fun. You can't hate most of the characters and even though it's standard shounen, still fun nonetheless. I think you would like it. On May 04 2019 09:54 Spazer wrote: Fruits Basket is goooood. My favorite anime of the season for sure. If you like this Fruits Basket, you should watch the first one so long as you are ok with older anime. Fantastic OP, great VA and it feels like it really hits its stride. Probably heavier on the comedy compared to the current running one, and I hear it's not as faithful to the manga, but I would say it's just fantastic all around and well worth the watch. Shigeru has to be one of my favourite characters ever.

The disparity between the technology - which is reminiscent of the worst "science=magic" logic that plagues bad stories - and the world is so hilarious that it actively destroys immersion. The new evil organization is a bad pastiche of Akatsuki without charm, understandable motivation, or interesting character design. Oftentimes the logistics behind drama are extremely contrived (how is Naruto this much of a moron at age 32?). The power scaling of the kids is utterly ludicrous and clearly exist to compensate for the escalation introduced at the beginning. The ideas are interesting. I see Kodachi wanting to draw a parallel between Boruto and the evolution of the post-Cold War world. There's something vague concerning the moral and pragmatic abuse of technology and how it upends old norms. Arguably the early character development between Boruto, Sarada and Mitsuki is better than the original series. However, you can do this without destroying the base logic of the universe you are writing in or unnecessarily diminishing existing characters. Tackling mature themes requires one to understand these points. On May 10 2019 12:36 Sentenal wrote: Sort of like how Dragon Ball GT wasn't by Akira Toriyama, and showed. To be fair, Kishimoto might've sunk during the first 50 chapters of Naruto if his editors didn't give him some strict management. He's someone who automatically comes up with a lot of ideas and he doesn't have the best instinct in deciding which ones are worth pursuing. See Sasuke's revenge arc that dominated the first half of Shippuden, aliens from other space, the "4th Hokage is a dog" brainchild that was mercifully axed lol, etc. On May 10 2019 13:11 BigFan wrote: ^ Yep. From my understanding, Kishimoto just stopping doing much after Naruto finished and gave permission to new folks to continue things with Boruto. I have no clue what he's currently writing, if anything, but having an anime and manga that ran for so long with a large fanbase must've certainly been satisfying for a fan of Toriyama lol. He's writing Samurai 8 for Shounen Jump.

Jojo is also getting more and more intense, I sometimes even rewatch some episodes while watching for the new one to release. Here's hoping the next jojo gets anime adapted soon

obviously some of the awkward moments int he anime are completely gone from the manga because of the nature of the medium. something i really do like about the anime though is the soundtrack. like even the insert songs are great. I'm also watching dororo (S2), OPM (S2) planning on carol and tuesday waiting on vinland saga. dororo i'm pretty apprehensive about right now. i think S1 was just amazing. i was so excited for the second season. but there are just quite some aimless episodes so far. a pretty huge anti-stickler for wasted scenes. what are some of your absolute favs or impressionistic shows in the past 5 years or so? for me that would be Ping Pong, bokumachi. space dandy. death parade, made in abyss, no game no life. that's a lot right? i think even amongst all the trashy stuff out there, there is an amazing amount of quality that.. we're really we're just lucky.

Boruto only exists because Naruto was popular. I seriously doubt there's any sort of long term vision for it beyond throwing ideas at it until something sticks. Gotta keep the cash cow going. They even brought out the cliche "if you kill him you'll be just like him!" stuff. Way to ruin a decent moment of character development. What's worse is that they kept Raph being all mopey about it later on. It made sense when she actually stabbed the guy. It's just farcical when he falls out the window on his own. As far as impressionistic shows go, I guess there's GuP. Unfortunately, they currently have a release schedule worse than friggin' Unicorn. Rakugo and 3-gatsu would be my other standouts. Uchuu Kyoudai was 2012? Been a long time.

Dororo slowed down a bit but it looks to be picking up again and I'm all for it. Bungou Stray Dogs is still amazing. The first 2-3 chapters were a brief flashback for Danzai and Chuuya but it gets back to the manga and it is wonderful. As for the last five years? OPM, Mob Psycho, Made in Abyss, Bungou Stray Dogs, Dororo, Keijo!!!!!!!!!! and I'm sure I'm forgetting a few. Megalo Box was good too.
