I got into anime because it was broadcast on the same network where I watched Transformers and Batman:TAS. Either DBZ or Gundam Wing was the first series I saw (discounting something like Samurai Pizza Cats). It really wasn't a step away from my existing viewing habits. | ||

Then it gets made fun of, and I get told that "nobody is saying that they are bad for first or second anime" while that is what the entire question was about in the first place. I also said several times that i'm thankful for the opinions and I would take them into account, and we'd look into them thoroughly and work something out, yet people here love spinning it in a way that I will show her code geass and that's that. I also never said that she likes or doesn't like silly or cringy stuff, I said she thinks that all anime is that, without watching them, because stereotypes. People here like assuming fuck knows what and trying to inflate things to preposterous amounts to suit their thought, and I always end up like an asshole when I come here and just end up regretting it. In that regard code geass is probably one step away from just picking a straight up ecchi harem series honestly. In which case i'll recommend highschool DxD. Plus i think code geass is bad, but that's another point entirely. | ||

I'm just done with this place. I think you're reading too much into this. Most people didn't try to get at Code Geass for being bad or tried to make fun of the idea. It's just that for most of us Code Geass reads exactly like the one thing she would not like given what you told us about her. I kind of agree with Sent when he said that's like someone saing "Anime is just all robots fighting and stuff and nothing else" and you going on with "yo, why not try some Gundam" (not exactly his words but too lazy to look it up). I wouldn't even call that exaggerated. That's really what it sounded like to us. To a lot of people Code Geass is great fun because it's silly and that's why it's so well liked. Some people did go a bit overboard but for the most part it's really just been people going "I don't think Code Geass fits for her given what you told us" and like I already said before, you only told us very little about her so it could very well be that we're all dead wrong on it, misunderstanding you and that you have a better grasp on what she might or might not like (the last one at the very least is very likely to be true). Give Miragee KonoSuba as first anime and he would have probably ragequitted right there and never ended up in here no matter how overwhelmingly positive the feedback on that show is. Give me Monster as a recommendation for my first anime and I probably wouldn't be sitting here either no matter how well liked it is because for me that's just not what I personally want from anime (for the most time). And I think that disagreement is at the core of what's the problem here. People in here are arguing that Code Geass is probably not the best anime to show to that one specific person given what you told us about her. While you take it the way I quoted you, as people trying to say that Code Geass is a shitty anime for first-timers period. Again, I don't think anyone is trying to say that. So yes, Code Geass is a good anime to get people into anime, it's just that the one thing you told us about her made us think she specifically wouldn't like that. And yeah some people did go a bit overboard but for the most part it's not people making fun of you or Code Geass, it's just people trying to be funny while getting that across. | ||
