But this is better than anything else I'm watching this season. Not saying a lot but at least something | ||

I'm not going to watch Steins;Gate (even though I did like the original) simply because I don't feel like I need or want more of that. I'm good with how it ended Hoozuki no Reitetsu has been on my plan-to-watch forever but I never got around watching it, so as much as I feel I'd really enjoy this I'm not watching it right now. Shokugeki no Souma also on my plan-to-watch but never ended up watching it. Boku no Hero Academia not a fan FMP never watched it LOGH never watched it Tokyo Ghoul not a fan Wotakoi and SAO I already mentioned earlier that I consider them both to be trash and really close to dropable. Actually had this been any other season I would have dropped them but with nothing else to watch I kinda watch them... And then HighSchool DxD literally only good series for me right now | ||

Also LOGH isnt' a sequel so i don't see how you having never watched the original makes a difference, you should watch the original though because it's one of the best stories you'll find in anime, which is obviously only relevant if you actually care about well told stories There's plenty of non-sequel stuff this season like Hinamatsuri, Megalo Box, Golden kamui, LOGH and hisone to maso-tan to mention some worth watching | ||

Current candidates death note and code geass. I still believe that Your Name is a fantastic gateway-movie to get people who aren't into anime into anime. It's a movie so it's pretty good in a "just watch this one thing and see for yourself!" way rather than having 12 episodes you have to go through. More often than not the stuff isn't on netflix after all and those normie's tend to not like that kind of thing unless it's on netflix (at least in my experience). It's also surprisingly "normal" for anime standards. Yes it has it's supernatural moments as well as somewhat cliché moments but those are more romance than anime things imo (aside from the bodyswap I guess, that's pretty animu) Not like it's a masterpiece or anything but it's just really easy to watch and enjoy for most people. So unless that's too cheesy for her I'd just start with that. The visuals also help because it certainly is eye-candy right there, which is something nice for people who think of Pokemon etc when they think "anime" | ||

At the start i was the same as you've described this person. Watched FMA:BA, Attack on Titan, Death Note, Tokyo Ghoul, Steins Gate and Psycho Pass (you know, the general favorites..) on Netflix and it changed my view on anime. Some are still on Netflix, which makes it easier to jump into. | ||
