the guy seemed to be so confident that he'll take back control and whatever but did shit imo. You can argue that some of the stuff that he did worked, sure but the end outcome is all that matters imo. Then fast forward time and he's got an incurable brain tumour? Seems like a big copout tbh.

Seems like a big copout tbh. + Show Spoiler + The whole Rubinsky story as well as the church stuff felt a bit out of place. It felt like the author tried to implement some 80s villainy into a story that was basically devoid of that. I know that I brought that up here back when I watched it.

+ Show Spoiler + I understand why he needed a villain in that arc to help focus the plot but honestly I think it could have been fine with them just solidifying the empire. You can do all the rest of the story with the characters going out in flames as they were destined to without the whole supervillian garbage.

less than 24 hours until my plane for pilgrimage leaves and my plan for Kyoto/Oosaka in particular up until now is still just: "idk, wander streets of Kyoto aimlessly for 3 days?" I'm not good at this shit

I'm not good at this shit I just finished my trip in Japan. Spent 10 days there, 6 in Osaka, 4 in Tokyo. How long you staying in Japan? I would recommend spending only like 2 days in Kyoto and maybe 2-3 days in Osaka. Other days you can travel from Osaka to outer cities such as Nara to feed some deer, or Kobe for the beef. If you have a JR pass it should be easy to get around to other cities.

LH isn't dengeki anyways.

The Kyoto/Osaka timetable looks like this: ![]() it's not really that I can't figure it out via google, I'm justs too lazy tbh~ So if people have recommendations I'm all up for that. I still have a visit to K-ON school as an option I guess since that's somewhere between Tokyo and Kyoto iirc and I have the JR pass for the light-blue highlighted days? It's a long flight. Guess I'll print some shit out and read it while not sleeping

I have a friend that lives in the Kyoto area, but unfortunately I think the only thing he'd be able to recommend are gaming shops. And we're not that close of friends. (He was a super weeb in college; he's living out his dream after moving to Japan and finding a wife there.) There's also Fushimi Inari-taisha, for an experience of the never-ending torii gates that you see in practically every anime depiction ever. Nijo Castle looks pretty. Shimogamo Shrine is also pretty. For Osaka? Umm... Universal Studios Japan is there. Probably not an incredibly culturally relevant stop though. Osaka Castle is there, as is a pretty nice aquarium... wait, now it sounds like some kind of date planning. Anyways, seriously google is very helpful. Here click this damn link. If coed, anime has taught me that girls will help get rid of the surprise boner anyway so it's a win win :D There's a quote I can't find that talks about specifically onsen and bathhouse behavior in Japan (or maybe customary etiquette) - something about how being naked may be common but it is rarely seen. Wish I could find it - because really, no one does give a crap and actively avoids noticing it. Also, anime is probably not a good teacher for onsen etiquette... probably...
