I love how obsessed companies are with making sure you can't watch the content they produce while never bothering to give you tools to actually watch the content they provide. Nyaa is down and scheduled for deletion because the owner was afraid of some new EU Anti-Piracy laws, nyaa could come back on a different domain but who knows when that'll happen or if it'll retain most of what it had.

Shirobako Anime's Website Updated With 'Under Construction' Sign
The front page of the official Shirobako anime website updated on Tuesday with a graphic that reads "under construction." The other pages of the website still work as normal.
The official Twitter stated that there are no announcements yet, but the staff would like to do various things, such as more talk shows. The staff held the "Shirobako Talk Show vol.5" event on Tuesday, and producer Takayuki Nagatani announced on Twitter that there are talk shows planned for July, August, and September.
Nagatani mentioned at the Tokyo Anime Award Festival in March 2016 that "if we could decide on a theme, there might be a chance [for a sequel]" to Shirobako.

Blaming the EU for Nyaa shutting down his site is a pretty fucking shitty meme. The EU ruling doesn't affect Nyaa at all, he just got paranoid and pre-emptively shut it down in case any future rulings should fuck him over.
If anything fuck nyaa for not just changing the domain or passing the site on to someone else. He even refused to give it to people who wanted to keep running it in his place and people who asked for a db dump.
Fuck the industry for making piracy the best way to watch anime. I'd pay if the service was good, but it's not.
The industry has no real reason to make a good way to pay for anime. In fact, anime being easy to watch for free is perect for them, since most of the revenue is from figures and BD sales. Anyway, there's an 8 month old backup up already, so it's only a matter of time before someone else makes a more permanent replacement. But I doubt it's gonne be as good as nyaa.
Hopefully though, this will teach the community not to put all their eggs into 1 basket. Fuck Daiz and his cartel.
