My biggest gripe with these kinds of parodies is that they are often to close to the very thing they are parodying. My recent watch of Twintails for example. You could see it's a full-on parody but the scenes were often the same because other anime are doing this shit on the same level of ridiculousness while being serious. | ||

unexpected yaoi scenes, go figure lol. Izetta: not bad though + Show Spoiler + seeing a girl riding a rifle and smashing tanks and plane is something else. Wish they toned it down just a smidge. Its still a good show but the replacement guy who pilots with Simon seems to be just filler because he has like 0 development outside of "he a reserved kid". Seems like kinda an odd choice there to have him be the replacement for Kamina. No one really stepped up to the plate to replace what Kamina brought to the show either. Still the show is stupidly fun and I love this team's style of animation and designs. It also seems it is like KLK in that there will be new layers of bad guys as you progress through the series (we are at just over halfway and already facing the supposed end baddie so there is going to be something else after him). | ||

Its not strange for a parody work to have a great deal of love/fondness over what they are parodying. Parodies aren't meant to try make the subject matter look stupid or dumb. That's the territory of Satire, which things like Twintails is definitely not. | ||

Atleast from the things you seem to enjoy from what you've written you will probably also love those 5 episodes. | ||

Additionally I thought the Chou Ginga Gurren Lagann and the Arc Gurren Lagann were both criminally underused in the last part. You know there's an issue when the Space King Kittan gets to do cooler things than both those two robots combined. | ||
