See, I'm an uneducated fuck so I wouldn't know it already comes up regularly. I also don't frequent sites such as reddit at all.

I could be wrong, though. (Wikipedia has been known to lie, and I can't read Takatsu Karino's website because Japanese.
Takanashi is the protagonist in Working!! "dog" group, the first anime series. Daisuke is the protagonist in Working!! "cat" group, the web-comic and current anime series.
iirc the very first seconds of the first episode had Takanashi walking away from the restaurant while Daisuke was on his way towards it. They crossed paths without knowing each other. So I kinda assumed this is all after the fact

The first episode of Fune wo Amu was surprisingly good. Sure, they over-emphasize the uniqueness of dictionaries imho and it comes over as a bit pretentious but I enjoy the poetic parts regardless. What really strikes me though is the animation. There is a lot of detail in it regarding expressions, all day occurrences etc. For example when they showed the woman that moved past Araki on the staircase. Her reactions seemed so natural yet intruiging.

fuck yen press what a bunch of incompetent fucktards
>announce special edition of spice and wolf >let people pre-order from all around the world including amazon.uk and amazon.de >almost 2 weeks after the books release nobody outside of US has recieved their books and people are rightfully pretty fucking annoyed and angry >now they finally inform us that, yeah, nobody outside the US was ever going to get the book, so if you didn't use amazon US you were fucked from the start
WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU NOT INFORM PEOPLE OF THIS DURING THE 1½ MONTH FROM ANNOUNCEMENT TO RELEASE? ARE YOU ACTUALLY THAT INCOMPETENT?
http://yenpress.com/2016/10/attention-international-spice-and-wolf-fans/
fuck anyone outside the US that wanted to buy a numbered edition i guess
|
Then companies cry about pirating. I assume best bet is to notify Amazon about it. Might cause some backlash as I doubt Amazon likes their customers being screwed using their services.
I really hate our fucking system of laws.
|
I know that Miragee also preordered the book, but yeah, we were both fucked from the start with no chance of ever getting it
i guess we should be 'grateful' and 'happy' that yen press decided to do another reprint for non-US plebians.... fuck you shit press
If they had just informed me of this from the start i would've sucked up the import fees and shipping and ordered from a US retailer, but i guess adding that single sentence to the original announcement would've required yen press to give a singular fuck about their customers
|
Yea if they just said from the start it was just US but they'd try get a global one then people would feel the inverse. Instead now there are angry customers for no reason other than their own incompetence. I'm constantly amazed at how poor companies are with their marketing and PR work.
I still think it should be brought to Amazon since it doesn't make sense to me that you could order a product through the store that could never be shipped to you. Surely that's misrepresenting the product and thievery.

Luffy was right, being a pirate is great
Finally finished Mobile suit gundam and it was much better than I thought it would be. Both the budget and episode count felt rather small since so many impactful scenes ended up being underwhelming but the story aged well for a late 70's show intended to sell toys. The tone of the show was pretty inconsistent though and the whole newtype thing felt pretty jarring since I never expected gundam to contain something like that but i'm not particularly against it.
Favorite parts were + Show Spoiler [MSG spoilers] +the arc where Amuro fought Ramba Ral and the last 3 episodes. I thought Ramba Ral was just a throwaway villain at first but he ended up being one of my favorite characters. The last 3 episodes were simply great, I have nothing else to add there.
I'll be checking out the rest of UC gundam soon and see where I'll go from there on, Might also watch some AU gundam if they're really nessecary to fully appreciate Turn A Gundam.

Watch zeta next imo
Zeta is amazing and of the gundam i've watched so far it's my favourite, + it's the direct sequel to the original
+ dat opening + Show Spoiler +
Edit: Misread your post, thought you were trying to decide what to watch next, didn't realize you were planning to continue with the rest of UC, my bad Then zeta is next anyway
|
The Zeta OP looks gorgeous, I'd be super happy if the show looked half as good as the OP.
I was planning on watching some of the UC sidestories (8th MS team, War in the pocket and Thunderbolt) before moving on to Zeta. In other series I have a hard time caring about sidestories if I'm too far ahead of their main timeline so it's now or never for those 3.
|
Hm, isn't it usually the other way around: you care more aout side stories the further you are in because you are attached to the characters and all? Anyways, Zeta is pretty good and I don't even like mecha.
lol, I guess amazon hasn't been informed directly yet. I think Numy is right and Amazon should be informed about this. It's pretty much the only way it would backlash at Yen Press. I wouldn't know if they cared enough though. I thought amazon's customer support was pretty terrible.

Just watched Flip Flappers 02. I still have no idea what this is about tbh. It so far feels more about adventuring than anything else. And if anything I get more of a fantasy feel right now than a sci-fi. Though we'll probably see more of the Sci-Fi once we get more into + Show Spoiler +the organization behind all that That being said, it's not one of those shows that I enjoy immensely like OmagawdINeedToSeeNextEPNAO and in fact the episodes so far do feel a bit long for me. But I do enjoy it for some reason.
I think Fune wo Amu and Soushin Shoujo Matoi are the only things on my plan-to-watch that I haven't checked out yet this season. Anyone given them a try yet? Other than that I really don't get why we had the hate on the season lately. There aren't any outstanding shows aside from girlish number but there's generally a lot I can at least enjoy so I'm quite happy with this so far.

Keijo is life. That is all.

I feel the same about FlipFlappers (I posted about ep2 as well). This season doesn't have a show I'm really waiting for each week so far. Is Girlish Number saving the season the same way New Game was AotS last season, Toad?
I'll go ahead and quote myself here on Fune wo Amu.

As for the season, it's not bad. It's just as weak as the entirety of 2016. The only really bad season this year was summer though.

Keijo is saving anime. Butt figure 8s, Keijo squats, butt passes, butt-punching, butt-walking, Asstronomy and Boobology. This anime understands life.

The only really bad season this year was summer though. no Girlish Number is not carrying the same way New Game! carried as an AoTS for me at all. New Game! is a cute-girls-doing-cute-things show whereas Girlish Number is more about the cynism involved and everyones take on the industry (although, it has cute girls involved)... I think people describing it as a mix between Shirobako and OreGairu is pretty on point so far. Bear in mind it's only 1 ep in so far and I'm not really a fan of the idol parts that it will probably get.
On Fune wo Amu, I guess I'll give that a try at least. Shoushin Shoujo will probably stay in my Download folder until about week 4-5 of the season when I finally give up on watching ep1 of it
|
I might check it out later then. I'll ask again when 3 episodes are out.
Also, apparently Fune wo Amu is by the same author as Rakugo.
|
yeah I heard about the Rakugo thing. That's the only reason it ended up on my plan-to-watch tbh
yep, Fune wo Amu is another show I can watch. Liked ep1
