@Nezgar: Yeah, the problem here is that people don't tend to think things through. They can be decent people but say something stupid because they didn't think it through. I do that all the time. -.-' On September 05 2016 11:45 plasmidghost wrote: Only two episodes of ReZero left, I'm so hyped for the finale of this season and for plenty of future seasons How was the animation quality in this week's episode of Orange? Was it better than last week's pretty bad quality? Uh, I didn't pay attention for the last few episodes. The animation was usual TV stuff to me. This episode as well. Some fails but overall decent enough to not be bothered by it? On September 05 2016 17:10 HolydaKing wrote: It's essentially three episodes, the last episode will be a double episode like EP 1 was. It does slowly build to those big events and I'm really enjoying the series after the last two episodes 7&8. If anyone dropped the series I recommend giving it a second chance. Yea the other day someone told me 91 days was starting to pick up a bit. I dropped the show after ep 3, but I might start watching it again. Alderamin/Mob Psycho are still my favorite new shows from this season.

+ Show Spoiler + I'd prefer the better chef simply winning, i wouldn't mind if hayama won simply because he was better, but the whole 'the dish reflected the chef as an individual' thing is honestly just bullshit to me. "Oh even if your dishes were equal his dish more accurately represented his style of cooking, so he wins", what kind of reason even is that, the dishes should be judged based on the theme and the dish itself, not based on what the chef typically cooks. It will never not seem like a weak as fuck excuse to have one character win without setting the three 'rivals' apart in terms of actual skill, such a shitty way to conclude a tournament imho this episode also reminds me how fucking retarded the recent manga developments with hayama are lmao

Its not, you can watch it on its own.

I never got the feeling that I needed to watch something else first. It's just the kind of story that starts in a universe that had things going on before the story started...

Full remake, nothing is required to watch it, other than good taste. Is it really that uncommon to have something happen in an anime that isn't explained right away?

They don't have to clutter the first episode(s) with tons of backround story but get the viewer into the action right away while also creating a sense of mystery that hooks the viewer. I don't really understand why it seems to be rather rare and frowned upon in anime do this. Books do that all the time. Maybe it's because the anime crowd is generally impatient and needs everything explained immediately.

Ep 1 is his motivation and background, 2-3 is set up and him joining the family, Ep 4 is a weird road trip that is seems like filler, Ep 5 is where the plot gets rolling.

I'm fine with it, just was making sure it wasn't like FMAB where they skip through a lot of character stuff super fast with the assumption that you know it already. Just have to say, UNCF has by far the best female uniforms in anime. On September 06 2016 04:48 Miragee wrote: I honestly love it if shows do it this way and explain it over the course of the story. I see where they going from but man the exposition from certain characters were so forced just to facilitate the opening. Having the general guy just randomly mention who their enemy is to a room of his peers at mission control was arb. Throwing in the whole scene with the hot blonde teaching kids was just throwing backstory at us. There wasn't really mystery in the opening, just confusion into backstory dump. Hence why I was wondering if it wasn't some kind of quick "retelling" of what I missed instead of an actual start.

However, it didn't bother me as much as the "expositioning the whole situation an backround to the viewer" type of first episode. As for FMAB: As far as I know, FMAB executed it the way it was in the manga and didn't skip all too much. The original FMA03 however added a lot of anime original stuff to prolong the short stories in the beginning. For me personally, FMAB did it better because I didn't care about the side characters either way. It was just longer in FMA03 and thus more boring. //+ Show Spoiler [Yamato ep25] + Desler is alive? WTF? HOW? I don't even...what is this? //finished Deus Ex Yamato, thoughts: + Show Spoiler + Let's begin with the ending because I seriously think it's retarded. I mean the whole show featured quite a few Deus Ex Machina moments, yet it still kind of made sense and was enjoyable. The end however was completely absurd. First Desler survived his exploding ship. Maybe he still lives after exploding a second time? Who knows... Then they have Kodai's brother reviving Mori which was a selfish decision to chose a single person over all the other people _after_ all those hardships. But then? Hey, another miracle and they can still save earth. My gosh, way to run a show into a wall in the end. Which wasn't even necessary at all. All they had to do was sending a few of Desler's guys after the Yamato for revenge or something. They didn't need to revive Desler for that. Oh, and just let Mori die. If they wanted to have a happy end, Okita should have survived, which would have at least made sense in some way. Ok, putting that aside I really enjoyed this show. The struggle of the crew was great. It featured interesting events, cool fights, a range of bad to cool villains and a great adventure. All of this was supported by great graphics, decent animation and an absolutely amazing soundtrack. The only thing that bothered me a bit was the inserted fan service because it really seemed out of place. E.g. the beach episode and the moe blob ice eating scene. In the end it's a 7/10 for me. I would have liked to give it a 8/10 because my enjoyment was certainly great but in the end I couldn't bring myself to it. That said, I'm looking forward to the next installment. It will be released as a 7 part movie series (like the first one apparently), starting next february. I hope that doesn't take too long.

JC Staff went full money save mode on Taboo Tattoo. If the animation wasn't crappy before it certainly is now. I don't even understand what is going on anymore. They got a beach video with some SM stuff and now they are running through a mini version of the grand canyon or what?

Naho legit puts me in pain + Show Spoiler [Orange] + At this point I am genuinely only continuing to watch it because it is bound to end in tragedy one way or the other... and I want to see how that unfolds. Either Kakeru dies anyway, or something happens to Suwa who is still in love with Naho and knows that they would end up together if Kakeru were gone. Whenever someone says "only Naho can make him happy", reconsidering suicide seems to be a viable alternative.

It will be released as a 7 part movie series (like the first one apparently), starting next february. I hope that doesn't take too long. + Show Spoiler + It's been a long time since I watched 2199. I remember liking it a great deal when it first came out. I think everything with Domel was the high point of the series, and it all went downhill from there. The finale was very obviously rushed, with a bunch of time spent trying to make the Garmillas Empire more sympathetic. They failed miserably on that point. Overall, it was a fun ride, but I don't think I'd ever rewatch it. The ending was too bad for that. Some plot elements are necessary because this is a remake, Okita's death being one of them. Being such an old series, there's also a lot of weird stuff that they need to work around. For instance, Dessler appears in basically every single Yamato series, so he might actually still be alive in the 2199 universe. Who knows. For this and other reasons, I don't really have much faith in the writing of the 2199 sequels. There's another Yamato movie that's already out, by the way. I haven't gotten around to watching it though.
