Eh, the new nanatsu no taizai anime is only 4 episodes long.
So i'm not sure what kind of rush they'd have to be in if they were going to outpace the manga.

Souma's battle with Alice should have taken 2 episodes, including scenes before and after the actual match. Instead we were sort of just thrust into it and it was over in 1 shot. It totally doesn't resonate with my experience reading the manga, and it doesn't give you a chance to breathe. What could've been a perfect anime arc is being hamstrung by its oddly short season length. Just to make sure I understand what's going on right. Are you suggesting 24 episodes where like 12-16 of those are election finals than rest go into the other arcs? I can get behind that. I wonder if they had an issue with where to stop with the schedule. It is bizarre to have 13 ep season sequel.
The election finals alone could take up the full 12 eps, yes, probably more. And with a 24 episode course you could probably work in the Stagiare arc as well. The point I take issue with is the idea that it feels rushed because the manga was rushed, because that's patently not true. They're plainly trying to fit it into a tight schedule, and one that it doesn't deserve. The difference in pacing between this and the first season is like a smack upside the head, and it has nothing to do with how the manga was written.

I don't know if they switched VAs in the german dub. Probably though? Doesn't matter much either way because there is only Ash and Ash's german voice is cancer. But so is the japanese voice. The english dub is pretty bad as well, I agree. Well, it will probably take a while until I start X&Y. The original series' 276 episodes are a decently sized hurdle to take.
Well, Rem is also the only character that seems to genuinely care for others/the MC. I think that helped a lot to get the internet going because...who wouldn't want waifu that cares about you, hum?...

I like ReZero a lot even without factoring in Rem. Personally I'm really interested in seeing more of the world (Getting to know more background info on Emilia and especially Satella + Dragon for example). I think the only animes where I care for the world in a similar way (and so far probably still more) are Hunter x Hunter and One Piece. That's different for everyone though. I won't deny that Subaru isn't exactly the best main char, but I don't dislike him that much either.
