What I disliked was how dense Mrs. MC is. Kakeru told her straight face that he wanted to ask her out. Then he tells her that he moved the status for the person he was interested in to "in love". She still doesn't know who it is. Really? Even I wouldn't be that stupid, lol. + Show Spoiler [Alderamin ep5] +Pretty underwhelming. I generally dislike the 99 % childhood flashback episodes. They tried to make me care more...well...they didn't fail entirely but mostly. The wolf story was also pretty stupid. As if wolves, let alone especially smart wolves as it was suggested multiple times, do something like this. Should have been humans instead. Or dogs.
+ Show Spoiler [Orange] +The fact that the MC is usually dense in almost all types or romance shows that I have seen is usually the reason I shy away from them. I am somewhat glad that the show has another story going on (saving Kakeru) instead of just being pure romance. With her being that dense it would simply be too frustrating to watch. But I agree, the ending was nice and it's something that I hoped would happen eventually.
+ Show Spoiler [Alderamin] +Good to see that I am not the only one who really dislikes those kind of backstories. They don't really add anything to the character at all. Those two having a close relationship since their childhood is something that could have been left implied without losing anything in the grand scheme of things. We already know the outcome of this kind of interlude (both survive and form a strong bond) so there was nothing at stake, really... it's impossible to build up any tension like that. It was a wasted episode imho.

Asami Imai isn't really in that many anime. Shes much more talented as a singer than she is as a seiyuu (Neptunia-wise, shes one of the least prolific voice actresses in an series filled with voice-talent). Other than S;G and Neptunia, the only other things she has a major role in I can think of is Idolmaster and Senran Kagura. I'd argue the second option, "or is that just a coincidence?" is the same as what you went with earlier with seiyuu's having similar roles isn't exactly uncommon, but thanks for the proper answer

I'm super depressed, should I read through Orange or wait for the anime to finish?

I haven't read the manga but there is a good chance that the anime will cover everything. If that's your your question.

+ Show Spoiler [Orange] +They are usually dense but not that dense. He basically confessed to her and she confessed to him. They are going on a date and she says they aren't on a date and she is clueless who he is in love with. I think frustrating is the correct word...
+ Show Spoiler [Alderamin] +Yep, "wasted episode" puts it in a nutshell.

+ Show Spoiler [Alderamin] +I'm no big fan of childhood flashback episodes either. I wouldn't call it wasted if done well, but the wolf story was incredibly dumb. These were the 2nd most clever wolves after Holo, lol. Though I'll admit there aren't many anime with wolves that I've seen.

I'm sad no one mentions Blazblue and Tsubaki Yayoi when talking about Asami Imai.

I read all of Orange. I had never cried at anything in media before, but not only did it bring me to tears, they wouldn't stop coming for a good 15 minutes. + Show Spoiler +I lost a dear friend to suicide last year. Every day since then, I've wondered what I should have done to reach out to him. It never gets any easier. Everything Kakeru said about his mother and his emotions after her suicide is exactly something I have felt or continue to feel to this day. But Orange convinced me to do something I've never done before and reach out to those that care about me and tell them honestly what I'm going through and to try to get out of the trench I've been in for a long time. For that, I have no words describe how thankful I am to the author Ichigo Tanako I don't give out this rating ever, but it deserves a 10/10

Finished Planetarian. Pretty boring overall. There was so much potential but it didn't expand on it and I didn't like the main characters one bit, either. The ending was still quite powerful. 5/10 I guess.
//@Plasmid: Holy fuck? I can't really see it being a 10/10 yet. So far it has been a weak 7 or so. The upcoming events must be heavy.

This one was only "kinda alright" for me though, and I think it should not have filled THE ENTIRE episode. Could have done a way better job with it

I've noticed that anime people tend to be very loose with 10/10 ratings.
So I open the first ep of Owari and hear Araragi talking about Eulers law. PTSD ensures and I haven't looked at it for a week. Why you do this Nisio. I jut want more Hitagi and Shinobu and Kanbaru and Fire sisters.

Had a sudden nostlagia attack and rewatched ep1 of Pokemon, lol. I always wanted to do a full rewatch but was also worried that I would probably hate it and destroy my childhood nostalgia... :D Ep1 was surprisingly sweet and entertaining. The japanese intro sucks though. Going to watch the next episode in german dub to see how that holds up. Well, it will be worth it for one of the best OPs in history alone. :D The animation is pretty fucking bad. So far it added some entertainment value but I don't know for how long. Will see how far I can make it.^^
//omg, the german voice of Ash is ear-cancer!

Usually yes, but plasmid usually rates really low. Afaik his average rating on MAL is sub 4/10 and he never gave a 10/10. That's why it surprised me.

People saying MCs are dense in HS drama anime and shit. Think back to your HS days chances are you or someone you knew was the exact same way. It's not easy to just take that chance without someone directly telling you to your face. "I like you", "I love you".
Highschool kids are awkward, shy, may have never been in a relationship before. I don't think it's at all uncommon for the kind of stuff we see in "Orange" to happen in real life. Obviously they drag it on a bit for shows, but still.

The thing is: They told each other directly. I don't have any problems with being somewhat dense or characters don't jumping at chances. I'm the same way. And I think things over way too much. But if someone tells me that they would like to ask me out even I would have a clue what's going on, lol.

They didn't tell each other they said, "IF" they had to choose between three people. There is a world of difference and still leaves a lot of doubt. There is an entire school yet still of people to choose from and they were just playing a little game. Still, a bit dense, but not nearly as bad as people always say.

+ Show Spoiler [Texhnolyze ep7] +Shit is getting real, holy fuck. This episode was brilliant. The cuts for the narrative from different perspectives to form the whole picture of the plot was perfect. Have to say the "character writing" really surprises me - in a positive way that is. It's an insanely interesting and unique cast, displayed and introcued with almost no exposition. I especially like Yoshii and Onishi so far.

If they have the confidence, sure, but they rarely do in anime. It's hard for anyone I think to say, "So, you said you'd choose me out of 3? So, do you want to date?"
People tend to want that sure thing and not risk it. There, again, there are plenty of people that take that risk, but for the sake of anime they are usual cut from the same mold and they remove the risk taking confidence from most MCs. At least the ones that I have seen.

Don't try to fucking justify harem bullshit. They made like retards because that's what Japanese highschool kids like reading and they don't have sex with everyone because Japanese Otakus have a hissy fit if their 2D girls aren't virgins. Virginity isn't the sole thing, any kind of normal healthy body image is a massive no no. A girl that is comfortable in her skin to involve themselves sexually with MC? What a impure whore.
