The only thing that was kinds off for me is.+ Show Spoiler + Why would Rem/Ram hold his hands that time? Rem straight up hates him because she thinks he is a witch pawn and Ram had 0 time in that loop to warm up to him (she doesn't hate him because she doesn't know about the witch part but she is still pretty kuu/tsundere to outsiders). I know that its that guesture that really touched the mc but its a little out of character for Rem to do that at this point in time imo.
Also kind of funny to see some hate against Rem/Ram. Judging from what I have gleamed looking into the LNs they are both pretty popular, especially Rem seems to have a huge following.

Before that they distrust him because of the witch smell but also respect/tolerate him for helping/befriending Emilia.
Also, I was under the impression that he has died due to a different cause each time through the loop:
1st time he dies to the mana draining curse in his sleep 2nd time Ram kills him in the hallway (note the way Ram's magic works during the most recent episode and his reaction to it.) 3rd time Rem kills him in the courtyard 4th time he commits suicide (I'd normally say that Beatrice would prevent him from falling, per the pact, but we will see.)
I was confused about the scene where he decides to not tell Emilia about the looping, but I think it is just a representation of intense fear, not any magical restraint. His internal dialogue about only looping three times in the city suggests that he is afraid that if he dies this time it will be permanent, and the rest of his actions support that (especially his response to Emilia being so harsh, which doesn't make sense if he truly wants to tell her but is restrained, and overcoming his fear of death at the end of the episode to restart the loop to save the maids.)

+ Show Spoiler +The 2nd night he was killed by Rem, but he was also dying from the curse imo. 3rd time Ram delivered the final blow but yea Rem was going to eventually kill him. As for the hate, see Rem's dialogue when she was attacking Subaru. She basically said it was all because of the association with the witches stink on him. You can attribute their initial warmer feelings toward him in earlier loops because the witches stench grows stronger everytime he comes back so in every loop he essentially starts at a worse initial state with Rem. Ram is lukewarm to everyone who is an outsider, she has 0 true hostility towards him except when she thinks he helped kill Rem. Ram has never targeted Subaru outside of the last loop. Rem keeps her knowledge of his association with the witch away from Ram so that is why she doesn't have any underlying hate for him. Rem does however, and it grows stronger with every loop because the witch smell grows stronger, which is why Rem was a lot easier for him to warm up to in the 1st loop.
It is the curse that is preventing him. You saw the darkness and the hand that came out and gripped his heart? Its an outside force that is doing it. Likely the one that brought him there in the 1st place and gave him that power.
edit: side note. Does anyone know what the differences in the plot between the Web and Light novels of Konosuba? The wiki says they diverge significantly.

Finished watching first season of Index. I'm kinda baffled at their choice for the teacher. I realize Strike the blood did this as well but she was nowhere as petite or young (from my recollection). Just really odd to see a child lecture someone twice their size lol. Also, angels fall arc has to be one of the stupidest arc I've ever seen. Sisters arc was the best imo even though it has its own issues: + Show Spoiler +ya, he holds off against railgun on the bridge but is wasted. Then he decides to confront Accelerator right after and beats him. You can say it's also partially due to the fact that Accelerator was playing around until he got punched then he got serious but even then, timing overall was terrible. . Still deciding if I should bother with the second season. Anyone?

Teacher in index is one of the oldest adult characters in the series afaik. So she's not really 'young' in anything but appearance.

Nat-chan pretty gud though.

The only thing you need to know about Index is that Kanzaki and Misaka are great. Its been a while but I don't remember what parts of the series the 2nd half covers, tho I am pretty sure it doesn't get to some of the better latter stuff. Touma is a pretty meh MC tho Railgun at least has Misaka as the lead in that series and you only get Touma a bit for when they interact (they also cover the sisters arc from Misaka's pov).

Angel Fall arc probably has the most future repercussions/foreshadowing of most of the Arcs, even if it seems stupid.
Second season is easily worse than the first season.
Railgun is 5x better than Index, watch those instead.

I heard Angel Fall got heavily modified in the anime version so maybe that is why it seemed dumber? I'm just waiting for more of the translated vols to come out so I can binge them when I buy em.

+ Show Spoiler +Biggest thing is that Angels and Saints, and the OP characters like them, just aren't relevant until later.

Completely lost track of my animes last season and realized I still have the ep 12 (last ep) of Dagashi sitting on my drive.
Oh man this gonna be a bittersweet experience, I really really really enjoyed this anime.

Index may have been serviceable if the MC wasn't a giant turd. He's IS levels of shit.

Just watched Shinsatsushitsu as part of the MAL anime challenge (typed a random word into the sf). Wtf? That was too deep for me...
ReZero's MC continues to be an idiot, 4 episodes in. I also can't stand how the Count talks.

I dono, the LN has plenty of fun bits later on, the title character and the MC notwithstanding. The show barely gets to the start of it though.

Touma might not be a good MC, but hes a totally different sort of "bad" MC than Ichika in IS. Considering one is probably mentally retarded due to how dense and clueless he is, and the other is instead overly preachy and self righteous.
Railgun s1 has the massive issue of being 50% filler, and the filler sucks. So even if the stuff that isn't filler is ok, if a season averages out to be more than 50% pure shit, that's a problem. Railgun s2 is much better, however.
