showing the internal emotional struggle of Subaru as he copes with the loops as he sees the relationships and memories he has built evaporate for everyone but him. As well as the trauma from the deaths and situations. Its taking its toll and you see him struggle to maintain his hope and motivation.

+ Show Spoiler + Overall it was pretty mediocre and I don't get the hype at all. I mean, Alucard was freaking cool but after he carried the show almost by himself. The other Hellsing guys were ok and so was the merc dude. The villains were are complete garbage, except maybe for Anderson who was only slightly bad. The story was bad and I expected nothing else. I thought it was pretty cute to try and generate tension by seemingly bringing Alucard to almost dead situations. I mean, by episode 3, at the latest, everyone and their moms knew that Alucard wouldn't die. What they also continuously did was to throw in plot twists and explain them immediately via a flashback. It happened all the time, in the middle of the fight, action or whatever else: freaking monolouges and flashbacks of childhood etc. That way they managed it to make almost every plot twist feel like an asspull. Good job. If you know what you are doing (and you obviously are because you give the backstory directly afterwards), how about throwing in hints beforehand? Walter was the best example. Him being a traitor was so unnecessary. bleh What I really disliked were the attempts on comedy. Wtf? If you attempt comedy in a show like this integrate it. Those cut-outs however felt so stupid and out of place. They destroyed the whole atmosphere and weren't funny at all. The production was ok. It had some good music and some nice animation as well. What baffled me a bit about the animation was the horrendous amount of still frames. It was like they needed to save the complete budget for some good fighting scenes and facial expressions so the rest had to be still frames... oh and CGI. The CGI was very meh. Overall it was enjoyable to watch together because of Alucard, stupid and over-the-top badassery and the bloodshed. I think every character carried a spare 20-50 litres of blood to shed when the situation asked for it. I guess it would have been a pain to watch alone. 5/10 On May 16 2016 07:19 BurningSera wrote: sakamoto#5, sakamoto is batman....so good... mayoiya#7, can you believe this is episode7 LOL, 0 plot so far, cant wait to see what happens next week, lovepon is so next level haha... :DDDDDDD //Flying Witch episode 6's ending, lol.

The most recent chapters especially disappointed me, such a cop-out solution.

It's not meant to be anything good but just over the top vampire ownage. It's just dumb fun with the best Vampire in anime. Well aside from Shinobu.

There's a bit more comedy in it, although it also seems more centered on Seras Victoria.

And some problems even stay with your explanation, for example the one with the comedy.

Not too excited for each chapter compared to what i was during the previous arcs. I dont feel its a cop-out solution + Show Spoiler + mainly b/c i know he's not going to win against 1st seat dude. and if he does there'll be something about it not being a sanctioned shokugeki so it doesnt count or some bull. THAT would feel like a cop-out to me.

THAT would feel like a cop-out to me. Imo + Show Spoiler + they should've just had souma lose and have him join central. It'd be legit interesting to see the story develop from there and you could have his friends do a shokugeki to get him free from his duties in central. I think the fight between them was ultimately pointless because they just went with the incredibly obvious OH IT DIDN'T COUNT ANYWAY. Which was what i was fearing each week as the series released a new chapter trying to hype up the duel between them, but it was hard to be hyped when you knew the result would almost certainly just be WELP IT DIDN'T COUNT ANYWAY. Like what purpose did this fight serve? To tell us first seat is super strong? Sure we already knew that. To show us souma still has far to go to be the best? As a reader we also already knew that. That souma learned a lot while in france? We also already knew that. It just feels like such a waste that ultimately achieved nothing except maybe give us some cute fanservice shots of hisako I mean it's not as bad as the way too drawn out Eizan shokugeki, but still. I just feel like this was a legit chance to take the story in a surprising and interesting direction and it instead just ended up being what everyone expected would happen the second it started.

I've always said quality of a story/show doesn't necessarily correlate with entertainment value of it. Hellsing was just one of those for me that were rather enjoyable even if it wasn't great. I'm as well but it must fit. In case of Hellsing it absolutely didn't imho. It felt entirely disconnected. If it's a comedy show and they switch into chibi mode, alright, not a big fan of it but it can be funny at times. In a bloody series like Hellsing however they should refrain from going chibi mode with flowers in the backround. Just integrate your freaking jokes into the show. Like in GitS where Batou scared that dude who was pissing by greeting him through the window. That was funny as hell but completely part of the world and didn't destroy the integrity of the show. For funny face it's the same. Why use chibi or simplified faces if you can just draw some grimaces? For example in Yu Yu Hakashu ep9 (Kissanime Link), starting at minute 6, actual face is at ~6:20. In the end, I guess it's a matter of taste. I'm personally, seriously turned off by comedy that destroys the integrity of a show, or everything else that achieves the same for that matter. I'm a big fan of integrates comedy that is part of the characters and their interaction because it feels natural, gives the characters a more natural feeling and is most likely genuinely funny.

It would've been interesting to see him balk under the control of central from the inside and use everything they tried to force him to learn but in his yukihira style to beat them in the end. but while the fight might have been ultimately pointless it still was important. A lot of the readers i've talked with think souma just wins by plot device automatically all the time but they gotta remember it's a shonen which means they have to show him lose in order to follow with a power up and then him winning. i mean it's classic shonen techniques here. just b/c its been done before doesn't mean it's necessarily bad imo.
