. Hana is very tame considering all other times we see kanbaru through Araragi she's super lewd which kind of furthers Toads point I guess.

I thought about telling him to read it right away as well but figured he can just force himself through Nise to avoid the spoilers. But it really touches greatly on how the depiction changes based on what character we're talking about and how it's what THEY want to do/show to Araragi rather than just fanservice for the viewer because the viewer wants it. In the end it's still fanservice but it feels like there's a strong reason behind it and the way it's shown supports that. Heck, you could even see it in the most recent Owarimonogatari episode with Kanbaru. As an aside: If you consider that the strong point in Nise, that for once, stems from Shaft and not from the Author. Yeah the conversations are still epic but it's nothing new at that point and it really comes down to being soft-porn. Nishio himself said that he never intended to publish Nisemonogatari and only wrote it for himself to live out his fantasies iirc. But editors went ahead and published it anyways and Shaft animated it ![]() If fanservice has a purpose, then it's not fanservice. That's literally what it means.

Monogatari could have had a scene with Koyomi taking a shit and there would be people would there analyzing it. Sometimes a spade is just a spade however, and while I do think they tried to be different in their approach and give it some use in the story, its still just fan service. yea but the cool thing about art is that to two different people, the spade could be a spade to one and the the spade could be deep subtext to the other. As long as people justify what they say, art interpretation can't be wrong.

Thinking back to all the little details of how Crab acted when looking for Snail's home etc., now that it turned out she couldn't see Snail, really hooked me up. The confession from Araragi in the end was also sweet but creepy at the same time.^^ I'm glad we move on now though. Snail was annoying as fuck. So far this one is a strange horse for me. I really enjoy the shrewd/astute (trying to find the right words in english by looking them up...so yeah, it's probably not gonna be completly accurate) conversations, especially when Crab is talking. Kind of reminds me of The Tatami Galaxy even though in TTG they were handled differently with entirely different tone and theme. I also really enjoy the art direction. Then we have all the random inserts of text that are only there for a blink of an eye. They are starting to annoy me. It feels so prententious that you give the viewer the vibe that something with deeper meaning is hidden there yet, when you pause the video, it's something like an adjective describing the situation/feelings most of the time - something that I can see on the screen anyways. The fanservice is also kind of weird. I usually despise fanservice and the amount of blatant fanservice in this one is putting me off. On the other hand, I still kind of enjoy some scenes because they are done in a rather artistical way and is kind of part of the plot? I guess this is some sort of a guilty pleasure. Crab is best and fan service is bestest. I don't get why people have such an issue with fan service. I like girls. I like panties. I like panty shots. It's not complicated! Same logic applied to every female body part. The text inserts aren't meant to be paused for. Generally they go on a colour theme so Red will be action/anger/etc. and I forget the rest. So it just kind of sets the mood while also having additional info(sometimes quotes from novels) while not clunking up the visual. Why was the confession creepy? Are you talking about Crab confession to Araragi? Well, it's mostly the concept of fanservice (all kinds) that I despise paired with the use of unnecessary sexualisation. The concept as in manipulating the viewers' emotions in order to earn more money. And what I meant with creepy was his "Senjougahara fascination". But as said, it was sweet and creepy at the same time, with the "creepy part" stemming from the fact that it is Araragi who is saying it. give this a read once you're finished with Nisemonogatari: http://wrongeverytime.com/2013/04/14/nisemonogatari-and-the-nature-of-fanservice/ I'd agree that the fanservice (that I usually dislike) in Monogatari feels different from what I usually mean by Fanservice. I'd also agree with the critic from your link. I've noticed that the camera work in Monogatari is very interesting and seems to give us different POV (like the one from Araragi, when he's trying to peak at the girl)

A women either has a hot body or she doesn't. If she wears a tighter skirt or shows more cleavage she isn't suddenly nasty. People are weird. No point trying to understand them I guess. Anyway I started Cross Game. It's pretty different from the usual sports anime I've watched. No super hyped games with crazy "techniques" going at it. Rather just a cool story of friendship and dense as fuck childhood friends who can't get over a dead girl. Also started Haikyuu!!. This is more like the usual stuff, very similar to Kuroko in a way but the adorable manager isn't much of a character in this which kind of sucks. Otherwise it's ok. Can't say I know a thing about any of these sports they play so volleyball isn't that strange.

His post made it sound like more of an attitude-problem and that's something I can definitely agree with. If someone is always in my face with his opinion and can't stop texting me I find that annoying. Same goes with clothes. If someone presents his/her body in my face I also find that annoying. That being said, I agree with your point about the body at least halfway. People can still wear stuff that makes them look worse. For example, I'm personally not a fan of the vast majority of make-up out there because in most cases it makes the person look worse or about the same at maximum. And last but not least, there is a thing that's called taste. Some people like it tasteful other like short stuff and so on. I would personally prefer the same girl in hoody and jeans over her in a dress everyday for example - a view not many people I know share.

I don't find fanservice titillating unless it's like 18+ things so I don't really care for it in shows. But I always appreciate/like something that looks good. Human body included. Idk, I just don't see it as sexual. Good looking ppl, naked or not, are pretty cool though
