I don't care about ratings, just stuff like sequels, linked shows and episodes etc. Ratings are largely a complete waste of time anyway. It's better to just get an opinion from a trusted source than to look at a rating on a site.

Also "similar show" suggestion in MAL gives best suggestion that I've seen. MAL forum is pure cesspool though. Animesuki is only Eng forum that's decent.

Thoughts so far: + Show Spoiler + Starting off with the best girl: Momoyo. Of course she is the best girl, that irresponsible and free living battle maniac who flirts with girls because she hasn't found any guys worth her time. I like that part of the journey of winning her over also included the narrative of her learning to enjoy more then just fighting (and I noticed in other routes she also worked on this in different ways). The MC works to upgrade himself from "little bro" status to become someone who can walk on equal terms with her. Momoyo is probably one of of my top 10 favorite heroines. Miyako: Well her route was what I expected from her character in the anime/manga but they stepped it up a bit and expanded on the whole gloomy type who was bullied and now is closed off to everyone but the group. Worked through that issue as she worked to become a more well rounded person overall who wasn't dependent on others. Her route made me think of Amane's route from Grisaia. The girl who just wants to serve you for life in all ways with instead of guilt being the driving factor its gratitude for helping her during childhood. Kris: Her route was going pretty well as the mc and Kris start off as being ideological opposites but slowly understanding each other more. However, this route took a nosedive for me with his "night creeping" tactics and overall pretty lame portrayal of their "sex life". I know people will say "oh sjw blah blah blah" but no. Its not a good look when the mc's plan to get a girl to stay is to rape her where her consent is converted from a no to a yes from the power of his penis then writing it off as "no its ok turns out she is a masochist and likes that stuff". The mc himself even admitted that its illegal "but its right because I love her". No, no its not --; The whole conflict with the dad was alright and Maru-chan is a neat character so I hope she shows up more in the future. The supporting cast so far has some really good members and some really weird ones. Overall its solid and characters like Capt are pretty awesome. I like the art style and character designs. The stories themselves are much more mundane and less dramatic then like a Grisaia (certainly the girls have waaaay less emotional baggage) but I think there might be more action in the future Agave route that is unlocked after the main 5. The H scenes are of course ridiculous, weird at times, and "male dominating female" at others. They make me think why they even bother and just probably stick to ecchi stuff. So far its pretty solid, some complaints here and there but nothing is a deal breaker and its overall pretty fun.

Stuff looks a lot better on their site too... especially my page. ![]() I don't think many people here actually talk about MAL's ratings as if they're good, but it's nice to be able to look at someone else's ratings who has similar tastes and get recommendations that way. Overall it's very convenient and useful. No real reason to hate on it.

Well, if you think about it, most people only rate series that they've finished. And if a series is below a 5, they probably dropped it long before they reached the last episode.

The high scores are a result of so many people only scoring things between 7 and 10. Anytime a new season starts something like 90% of the shows are averagely scored between 7 and 8, lol.

Most shows with a rating lower than 7,5 on MAL are beyond terrible because people rate so high on MAL. I saw a lot of users that only rate between 8 and 10 or a minimum of 7. Some users even have 100 % 10/10. It's quite amusing yet sad if you actually think about it.

Not really, you need to take into account of how many people also rate the show. Something with 190k rates is different than a show with only 6k rates.
